    RE: the bolded bits!
Don't think Santi is nearing an exit, I think he's generally been one of our best players regularly, and rarely gets injured.

I agree strongly about Gibbs, he never fulfilled his potential and went backwards a good bit, would like to see a replacement for him.

As for 5 top class players? We know Arsene won't do that sort of business, but I would really like to see replcements for Rosicky, Arteta/Flamini and Gibbs, and of course, a top class Centre Forward... Which defo won't happen!!!

I don't think it will happen either.
I really hope Santi comes back fit and well but i'd have concerns as he's aging and injuries tend to recur with aging players.

I really think the club need to examine and appraise the panel and try and come up with something that will once and for all find out why we have so many injuries and plan for the future with a stronger and larger panel of players.

Replacing Gibbs would be pointless, he is a back up LB. Alot of clubs barely have one decent one as it is. He is not good enough as a first choice for a top club but is definately good enough as cover.

We'll see nothing big in January I dont believe, we were in a bigger mess this time last year and only Gab came in.

Wenger really isnt going to change now

I don't think we'll see much in January either.
For me Gibbs is not even good enough as a back-up LB.

    He's a cowardly sh*te basically.
    Oh and a poor LB.

I dunno. Can't say I would put 'brave' next to most of our team. You really have a major problem with him, fair enough.

In the clip above, sure that was poor defending, but he was never going get to that either way. If you have an axe to grind against a player, it's easy to find things they do poorly.

End of the day, he's our backup LB. Monreal will be around for a couple more years, and if Gibbs can't step up, then he's gone.

    Where's the strawman exactly?

Also from before, the "ethos" to me seems different to the invincibles days, we used to counterattack. Funny enough we were doing that earlier in the season not seem to have lapsed back into possession stuff.

You need fast players to play counter attack. We don't have that right now. I'd feel a lot more positive about doing that if/when we have the likes of Walcott/Welbeck/Ox on the pitch.

He ducked out of the header for sure.
I've seen him on many occasions run alongside an opposing player and not put a tackle in and i've seen him make some very poor attempts at preventing opponents crossing the ball.
I didn't make my decision about Gibbs on just a few games either, i've been watching him for years. He is a poor defender and lacks courage which makes him not good enough for Arsenal in my opinion. He's been at the club since 2007 so he won't step up.

Walcott is ideal. Sanchez is fast enough and Ozil just has to be in the right place to play the lay-off. Again, I'm off the laptop so possession stats would be nice but I can't help but think we've regressed since the early-ish matches when we started to look efficient and almost ruthless. We're back to the last few games lately it seems. Will be great in the games it works.

F**k all these injuries and who we should buy. I have a real Arsenal crisis here. My eldest fella is having some sort of club crisis, and wants to start following his best mates club. Liverpool. I'm distraught at this. I have immersed him in the club, bought him Alexis jersey this year, let him stay up to watch champions league games etc... I need advice. I'm considering a stay in a concentration camp in outer Siberia for the winter months... HELP PLEASE?

Sometimes I think you should just throw on the boxing!

    So today it's pretty much,

    Flam - Rambo
    Ox - Ozil - Campbell
    Giroud

With opportunity for Walcott to come on.

If he's going to bring Wally on, I'd actually rather he just have him or the first half and then swap at half time.

So Wenger saying they still don't know the full extent of Cazorla injury and he could miss the season

Apart from Ozil really that front line is not going to scare many teams. I really hope we can pull a performance out of the bag today a few players in there hopefully with a point to prove.

A lot resting on Ozil's shoulders. Hopefully he can keep his recent form up. Also a great opportunity for Campbell and Ox to prove their worth. These are pretty much our attacking options till the new year (until Alexis comes back or - God forbid - we actually go and buy a player at the beginning of the transfer window)

I'd agree with this but it probably won't happen in this way.
Walcott will come on in the second-half for a run if we are leading and in control.
Today's game is going to be hard. Big Sam is a good man to put up a defensive screen. He's won the last two games and is going for 3 out of 6 so probably trying to score on the break and defend like mad.
Arsenal have dropped 15 points out of 14 games this season and 7 of those have been dropped out of the last 9 available so Sam will be thinking it's a good time to be playing us.
I'm again expecting a win but I was in the last 3 games too.
3 points and no more injuries is a must today.

He'll actually come on when Ox has to come off injured.

3 points essential today. We have enough talent to beat Sunderland. But that was true for west brim and Norwich. Klopp has revitalised Liverpool. It's what we need.
