From what i saw - which was part of the first half i think, Hazard looked lively and only for some wayward shooting from Costa would have got at least an assist, few weeks time i'd say folks be scripting their heads trying to get hazard into their teams.

My 51(-4) sees me fall like a stone down to 250k. Jaysus lads, this is a tough tack.

45 (-4). Lukaku, Ayew and Mahrez with the points. Just captain Kane to go, and how he gets on will define my GW.

Ha, if i didn't have so many money leagues i would have quit by now.

In fact i managed to get a monthly bet going with a chap, from November - hopefully i'll win a few months and will help make the game more interesting - practically written off some of the other bets - teams are too similar, would basically need a triple captain barkely week when he goes mad to catch them i think.

Agree about Ayew, just when you think about selling him he comes up with the goods. Think I'll keep him for a few more weeks now. He's the joint third top scoring mid after today.

Just got a horrible revelation tonight. I'm not progressing anymore at this game :eek: . I think I don't have enough knowledge of PL football because I simply don't get to watch enough games or highlights. It's been a huge while since I made a right call. My transfers have been horrendous lately. I'm reacting, I'm not acting. And when I do I'm too often rubbish...

I started this season greatly. I made a terrible call in not going for a GW3 WC. I did make the calculation, I lost something like 40-50 pts in the process. My GW8 WC was a great success but I made 20 pts back max I'd say. And I handled Agüero's injury in the worst possible way. None of my calls really worked out and I'm now stucked with an unbalanced team with limited cash power. With my great start, this season was supposed to be one to challenge my 2 years ago best finish and try beat it and enter the 3 digits level. I messed it up and now I'm 200+k OR and am looking like having a similar season than last year where I struggled until GW37 to make a top 10k finish.
I won't enjoy that forever...

At least one call I made right before the season started. A. Ayew is a good footballer andshould get close to 15 goals. You'll have to swallow a couple of 2 pointers but he should be not far from the FPL top5 midfielders come GW38.

50/50 decisions will work themselves out over the course of the season. And Kane hasn't even played yet! He could hit a hatty tomorrow

but he's in the top 20k because of the one week wonder, he was about 250k before that.

having said that he's had some unbelievable benches over the GW's

that's a crazy amount of points to leave behind.

Lukaku got today in a single game what Pellè got me in 5!
My Kolarov -> Bellerin move was a reaction to missing out Bellerin 10 pointer in GW9. I should have made Saylor to Bellerin here. Lost a precious transfer and £0.3m in the process.
Got Bony too late. Again reaction from his GW9 16 pointer. 2 wasted transfers here (in & out). He got me 3 miserable pts in 2 games.
Smalling was good but for my team, the best transfer was probably Myhill to DeGea.

I feel if it was ligue1 football, I'd not have made all these wrong calls. A few posters saw Kane coming into form (watch him fail epically tomorrow now :rolleyes:). Others backed Lukaku good stats.

Seeing Ozil & Lukaku perfs today compared to my overall defensive failure (supposedly backing Payet for this week) and Pellè nothingness was probably the straw that broke the camel's back for me tonight...

And the worst thing is I probably need a 12 pts hit to get Agüero back in while readjusting the balance and keeping the core strenght of my team... Tonight is my worst ever GW in the game. Not the score itself. But the combination of missed opportunities (cash-wise and short-term pts wise), wrong choices and the current overall state of my team put me in a situation where I can't remember ever being in. And the worst thing is I can't blame injuries (bar Payet). I did it myself ...

So much of this game is luck. But if you keep doing the "smart" thing over the season you will prevail over the short term luck merchants.

I just made another mad decision(s) tonight so the next 3 GW's will tell the tale but I'm happy to give it a whirl and see.

For my team, a GW3 WC would have been much better. I did make the calculation. And it's not only hindsight. I did consider it seriously. Had the team selected. But with the new rules, got afraid and kept it. Because in the end, it took me 3-4 GWs and several pts hits to get a simialr team to what would have been my GW3 WC team.


And about the skill vs luck debate, I don't think I can blame my lack of luck over my above transfer decisions. I mean, sometimes you just have to swallow it and admit you've been sh*te :pac:...

It's hard to get rid of biases. I crunched numbers on Pelle v Vardy after Aguero got injured and it was super close. Vardy edged it since BUIB screwed me last Jan, that must be a massive point swing in my favor. Similarly we'll see what happens with Kane, but he screwed me last season and beginning of this so I went Lukaku
