The way things are going with Xmas starting earlier every year by 2085 decorations will go up in January giving up Xmas all year round.
Can everyone please have a read of the charter before posting here please?

Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion in this forum, so long as that opinion is that Christmas is fantastic and you love everything about it. :)

Hi zerothreat please refresh yourself with the Christmas charter. If you think decorating in November is a crime against humanity this might not be the place for you.

I brought some LEDs in to begin my desk decoration today. I'm a little worried as they're very strong and I can get migraine from strong LEDs. Maybe I should find some tinsel to wrap them in. :D

Tried to reply to your earlier message but seems the mods must have deleted the entire conversation. Cant even have my own opinion on this forum!

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas just as much as the next person. But October??? Seriously, that's way too early. By the time Christmas actually comes around, im sick of it! No need to be dragged on for 3 months that's all I am saying.

    Hi Ashbx,

    I refer you to the Christmas Forum Charter which no doubt you've read, you would have seen that;

    Rule Number One!

    'The Grinch'

We do not want you in this Forum, as all who post here love Christmas. Anti Christmas threads, posts and comments like "Bah, Humbug" or "OMG, It's October" may be deleted and can earn you a warning.

Wanting to slap someone who wants to put decorations up before December is a direct breach of this rule.

Please have a read over the charter and see if this is the place for you. There are plenty of threads in After Hours hating and wanting to slap Christmas so your thoughts might be more welcomed there.

    Thanks.

Not much point in the thread if you cannot answer it other than one way.

Anyway, you can love Christmas while still feeling putting them up too early has a negative effect on it. In fact, its only those who really really love Christmas as a bright star in the midwinter, will know that having a sixth of your year with Crimbo decs up cant but dilute the fun.

"Decorations...when is it too early?. (You may answer November if you wish, but posts saying leaving them up all the year round, are preferred)."

You are so wrong look at how many people have commented late December and that's fine. You're welcome to have your opinion but using insults to people who's opinion differ to that of yours will not be tolerated.

I always have a real tree. This means the weekend around December 15th or later. This year, cos I feel like cheering things up I'll decorate around December 10th. Get the tree a week later. Really looking forward to Christmas cheer this year. My advice to others, Decorate whenever you like, flick the begrudgers 🎄🎅ðŸŽ

Plants come to my house to die... seriously when I walk into a garden centre they all start shaking with fear and whispering " no not me ". I doubt a real christmas tree would be different lol :o

There are many reasons I can think of to decorate early 2 that I know of for sure in our case is that we are both up in age and do a huge display inside and out, outside is for our entire town to enjoy, the inside is just for us. We must start early as it's becoming more difficult and we do as much as we can in one day then rest. Our goal is Dec. 1st. and then our display is lit each night for 1 month exactly. Since T-day is the Nov. 28th. it would be impossible to get all up in a few days it would kill us!

Another reason many get all up by T-day is because relatives come from other parts of the country and can not stay for Christmas and so they celebrate 2 in one and want the tree up w/presents underneath. (make sense?)

Another reason is motivated by weather some work before the snow flies and the ice forms, in our case we have to work around 90 degrees and just had a cooler weekend to really get to it. Much of our stuff is up under our roof where it can go to 150 degrees in no time.

So don't judge peoples motivation until you know the story!

My hubby and I plan and talk about Christmas all year long, we have no kids, no family but still love it and seeing how others enjoy our display.

There's no PC standards here. You're entitled to have your opinion and many others agree with it but please don't refer to those who's opinion differs to yours as crazy.

Mine go up the first weekend in December that I'm not working, or the nearest to it if I am. Was 28th November last year. Kids loved it, wife, not so much.

    Usually the 8th of dec.
Have two kids under two so will have to do it when there in bed or we will never get it done with my 2 yr old stuck in everything.
We put a fire gate around the tree to keep him from pulling at the lights ect
