Tony Blair has a lot to answer for to with his criminal invasion of Iraq and completely ruining the region and then letting folk take over and now we are transporting them into Europe and on our doorstep who WILL attack us with bombs and bullets. It's incredible.

Absolutely. He and Bush have played a bigger role in the creation of ISIS than anyone else.

Why ? It's simple numbers. The higher the amount of Muslims, the higher the possible amount of Muslims who may get radicalised.

    That's not anti-Muslim, it's simple statistics.

Over 7% of the population are Muslim so obviously also a higher percentage of people there who may be swayed by extremist Muslims beliefs.

I really think Ireland won't have anything like this.

Fortunately we can drastically reduce the chances of this occurring by simply not importing our enemies.

Oh so you're going back to the 7th century? Because Christians never engaged in warfare back then, did they?

Muslims have been no problem for people in Ireland. Relations here are good.

Armchair war hawks will be the ones most likely to alter that.
That will change when thousands from Syria arrive on your doorstep. I certainly won't be taking public transport now.

Neither are ITV or Channel 4. The only places giving it instant coverage are those equipped to do so - the dedicated news channels.

Send in the special forces ffs

Thats what I would have thought.

These guys are not in it for a negotiated settlement.... they worship death.

the building should have been stormed as soon as forces capable were on the scene...

    Army mobilized, borders closed.

Islamism is a problem, let's not apologize for saying so.

It most certainly is a problem and those who engage in it are scumbags, but like the spate of mass shootings by young social outcasts in the US, it has a root cause which many simply refuse to acknowledge. The West treats the Middle East and the real, living human beings who live there as some kind of ant farm toy. Those who grow up in the West and are ethnically related to those people, however distantly, and see that on television are growing up in a world which they believe doesn't respect them as humans.

If you make people feel like they're not respected as humans, they will not behave like humans. The exact same phenomenon is behind the mass shootings in US schools. They're perpetrated by people with a justified victim complex, and like it or not, Western civilisation needs to do something about that or this sh!t will keep happening.

I await the hordes of eejits who will regard what I've posted as a defense of the terrorists: It's not. They're scumbags. I've said that before and I have no problem saying it again. But like anything undesirable, there are reasons it exists. And as uncomfortable as it may seem, the disgusting behaviour of our governments in the West is one of those reasons.

To give you an analogy, nobody likes having a rat infestation but one of the root causes of that is bad hygiene, and that's something the homeowner is responsible for.

World is more peaceful than its ever been. 24/7 news coverage tries to make you believe otherwise

Not true anymore, maybe in the 90's I would agree but we are now effectively in WW3. Just that it's not happening in Europe this time so it feels relatively calm. In North Africa and the Middle East every country with any military of consequence is now fighting a war.
