Just hearing it on newstalk now... Happening in the 10th arrondissement... 3 explosions so far.

This is obviously going to be an extremely emotive thread, we will bear that in mind while we attempt to balance modding with free discussion.

Please separate Muslim from ISIS/Islamic Extremists/Terrorists. We cannot tolerate peaceful human beings being branded otherwise.

Please try to be civil but also have a little more patience with your fellow posters as this is a worrying time for all of us.

An attack on a bar in the French capital, Paris, has caused several casualties, French media report.
A gunman using an automatic gun opened fire at the Cambodge restaurant in the capital's 11th district. BFMTV says at least seven people were injured.
Liberation newspaper says a number of people have been killed. There is no official confirmation.
Another attack - an explosion - is reported to have targeted a bar near Stade de France
France were hosting Germany in a friendly match.
A BBC journalist at the scene says he can see 10 people on the road either dead or seriously injured.
He says police have now arrived.

I feel a France German soccer match was a poor choice of target. There will be a lot of pressure of France to step up their military reaction.

Do me a favour. There is no-one "opressed" in Western Europe. What there are are people who wish to live outside of Western norms, well do you know what? Fúck them. Integrate, or go elsewhere where your ideas are welcome tbh, but don't try to impose medieval, religious nonsense on the rest of us, then get all uppity when normal people don't want to live like that.

There are oppressed in europe without even bringing religion into it. Go into the outer suburbs of Paris and you will see oppression. People with no hope. Religion is a separate issue.
