I know the default to that question is come along.

But, Could you play it as a practice before ? Do you live in Dublin - it is very cheap. (about 15 quid)
So go out and try it would be the ideal .

In November if wind , it will be hard.

It is a short course - but is very very local knowledge based.

Fair point, I'm not too far from it, will try to get out on Saturday and see how I cope

is there spaces left on this, hoping to make it out, but just have to check the dates first?

I'll have to see closer to the date now, what I thought was a crick in my neck was apparently worse, just focusing on getting back to work now.

Played earlier today at Corballis in the Friday Open to get some feeling of how to tackle this well famed course. I have to say I found it bags of fun dealing with club selection in ever increasing winds. Had to tee off on the opening par three with my five iron and it only got more breezy as the round went on. Course is in great nick with greens running very true.

Really looking forward to the fun on the 21st

    Nice to hear that Macker.

Because - I go there for fun. You picked a crazy day (lol).
Nice to hear another perspective - as it is a Love Hate sort of place.

I never considered it a real full golf course (it isn't). But is there any harm in a bit of variety - short holes and very short holes. It places a real premium on the short and mid game - and is great for your game.

A few yanks asked me for a place to play a quick 18 a bit different - I said go out to Corballis - fast , fun, by the sea and not a caddy in sight.

But again - can understand someone not liking it at all.

I am really looking forward to this outing now that I can definitely go.

I am intrigued by challenge that Corballis will present having heard so much about it on here. I am also nervous about weather it will tear my game asunder. I can be erratic at times and scratch holes at the best of times. Also the lack of par 5s cant be good for me as it where I do my best scoring. I am looking forward to the challenge and not being able to just bomb a driver every hole.

Also be interested to see how it compares to my home club, as it is often described as not being "linksy" enough. As a result there is massive changes planned over the next 3 winters to rectify this and make it more like a genuine Links course.

Myself and bombedbiscuit will be traveling together, so if we could tee off around the same time, it would suit.
    What's the tee times?
Barnaboy if your heading to this outing there is room for one more?

Any plans for heading somewhere after for a drink/food - the clubhouse there isn't really set up for hanging around after?

This place is not bad - now, is a Saturday and could be something on - I've only been there during week.
Good food etc - unreal views.

Only 2 minutes up road , you can see it on the 16th Tee.

As Fix is the resident expert, I shall bow to his judgement and decision of what we are doing after. I had no idea there were no facilities

Yes - mad place, just a shop - basic showers at best.

No food - except a few sandiches in fridge.

So - you would need to go somewhere after for the ones who travelled etc.

I'll check it out. That place is good I posted.

I've played here before, but can I get a quick reminder of what club to play on 2, 3, 7 & 11

    This is what I'm thinking
    2- 9i?
3- 5i and play as a par5 (or driver if I'm feeling crazy)
    7- 6i?
    11- 7i?

If I remember particularly 2, 7 and 11 are blind and fraught with danger if you club wrong.

Not at all it's no hassle.

SeveOB, myself bombedbiscuit and Barnaboy are traveling together. So if we could play together or have close tee times that would be great. Between 10 to 10:30 would be great for us.

Mick would be a strong iron player - I'll forward a guide if people want before.

On 2 - I hit a 7/8 in winter - if head wind can be up to a 5 ( you are trying to land on a flat piece of lay up above hill)
3 - go for drive, feck it - you will only have a few chances.
5 - hit it 180 to 200 yards, not worth drive as it will be lost.
7 - 6/7 is fine. you can go for green - but a lost ball 7/10 times.
11 - 7 iron at pole a big strike , I think 6/5 for most going in winter. You can go for green but lost ball 9/10 times.

Rest is straightforward (for there) - you may get a ball viewer up on hill at 14 as a good shot can be lost here.

On 17 - there is no point in going there once off and being short.
