How have the teams looked? Looking at the numbers on livescore Newcastle look to be playing well enough. 7 shots and almost 70% possession.

Newcastle the better team, Sunderland have offered nothing going forward. Stupid challenge from Collocini.

Judging by BBC updates the red was a bit harsh.

Dominating possession, a few decent chances but they haven't managed to carve out a clear cut opportunity. I was tempted to back Newcastle to score first watching it, glad I didn't!

Of course Sunderland will get that elusive clean sheet now that o shea has gone off.

    That wasn't even a penalty.

    Referee lost it completely.

Ahh it was, it was blatant obstruction and a free kick anywhere else on the pitch imho, the red card was the wrong call though I reckon.

It was a penalty but not a red card IMO.

Come on, Wij! With my luck, he'll blank and Martial will score two. :(

Please don't sacrifice Ayoze Shteve, you need a goal

    It wasn't imo :)

Anyway, poor game, going to be even worse after the break.

I think it's a fantastic game! True, it would have been better if Newcastle scored first so that Sunderland would have to get out of their own half. Great atmosphere though!
