    Cyclocross Wide/Narrow chainrings for £20.79 + £3 shipping to Ireland = 32 euro

20% discount code (for all stock!) is FLASH20FP or FLASH20OCT

    http://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/cyclocross-io-chainring-narrow-wide-style.htm

What's the story with those and front derailleurs - does it mean one ring up front only?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,520 ✭✭✭Alek

They're for a single front ring setup (1x9, 1x10 etc.) - their specific design minimizes chances of dropped chain.

I got one of the superstar components chainrings - looks well made. Havent had an opportunity to try it out yet. i paid about 40 inc delivery last week.

Did you get 38 or 40? What cassette are you using?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,386 ✭✭✭lennymc

38 with an 11-28 on the rear. This isnt bargain talk tho so we should probably move to another thread.

    B*llocks, those went quick!
Supposed to be a 1 day flash sale "while stocks last"

Don't see any availability now at any Irish stores.
Still available in UK, could get my brother to collect but £189 works out at €266 so not as good a deal as here.

They probably only had one. They are of the opinion that if your willing to pay €229 for it and it's not there, you'll possibly spend the money on some other product instead (which hasn't been reduced)

Interesting concept. The tooth profiles alternate, and this somehow 'locks' the chain on the ring?

Mind you, if you're going single chainring, I don't know why you don't just have a humongous chain guard on either side of the ring, and then you have no chance of a derail at that end. But I'm not earning the big bucks designing fancy bike components, so what do I know! :)

Yes, narrow teeth fit exactly in between inner plates of the chain, wide teeth between the outer ones.

They would catch a lot of mud and lock your drivetrain in the middle of the race, I guess :)

There are solutions like this for downhill MTB though.

Either use the CHAT on Halfords web site or ring the store.

No other way if its UNAVAILABLE online.

The 'Collection not available' note would indicate it's not a regular stock item in the stores.

I placed an order for these yesterday morning.

    http://www.marreybikes.com/cycling-tights-and-trousers-/3056-marrey-bikes-super-roubaix-bib-tight-black.html

They arrived at work just before lunch so i was able to take them out for a trial run today (1pm). It was constant driving misty rain and was on the bike for just under the hour. I have to say they preformed above my expectation, it doesn't say they're waterproof but didn't feel any dampness on the legs and the limbs stayed nice and warm. I have to say the chamois is a little large for my liking and would have to apply some cream if i was doing a longer ride, but i do prefer a smaller chamois (synthetic leather if possible). The sizing is great if not a little on the larger side. Well worth the money if your looking for a winter bib tight.

    P.S.

Not affiliated with the shop ;-)

Their cannondale road bike prices (esp 2013, 2014 models) are also pretty great. Unusually, they have 'normal' sizes in too. e.g.

Just to follow up on this. Ordered my Trigger 27.5 on Monday night and it arrived yesterday morning! Fantastic service from Pauls Cycles. Bike is fantastic, just did a quick 20km spin on local trails. Looking forward to taking it up to Wicklow at the weekend.

Was in 360 cycles in Clontarf earlier and they are selling off their Merida Reacto's
for 1500 instead of retail of 2500
I think and you would need to check with the shop but only a few 56 and 52 left.

Merida Reacto carbon frame and forks with ,from memory, 11sp ULtegra .FSA chainset, one of the pro logo saddle and merida's own wheels (whatever they are!)
Also clearing mudguards, computers and other stuff.

    1799 on the website...

It's a good price but not as good as 1500. Are they add cheap as that in the store?

Yep. Well they were 1500 when I was in there late this afternoon. Think they were pricing them to clear stock for new year.
