Had a look at my Agfood to see what are the holdups in this year's payments. I put in a plot as 0.59ha but they have it as 59Ha! Looks like I'll have to buy a lot of cattle to qualify for the ANC payment this year when I was hoping to sell what I had next Wednesday!

Got a text yesterday saying my payment was due on the 20th. Never got any word about young farmer top up or anything else which I applied for. Here's hoping I get it!

Lol that would make a good headline.
Don't know why they announce on their website and to agriland that payments begin on the 14th but pay no one tell a week later.
Who are they trying to fool like.
Gave a few post dated cheques expecting payment by 16th will have to go ringing now asking to hold them a few more days.
There is no certainty around payment dates anymore.

I reckon the banks are sitting on the money for a week before it appears in our bank accounts. Between the interest on 1bn and the surcharges + a few bounced cheques it all adds up for their bottom line. If money is direct debited in why should we have to wait a week for banks to clear it, it's not a cheque?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Not a good idea to depend on the advance payment, and I'll wager there'll be a lot late in dec too, a lot of changes this year

Agree that it is not a good idea to depend on the advance payment but when one's back is against the financial wall (ie-factory prices 2013/14) it's a bit of light at the end of a very long dark tunnel.
Why do you think that there will be a lot late in Dec.

Rang them a week or so back and they said alls good, then I got a letter today to tell me I'd to resend on my bank details, I could swing for them.

Just basing it on how hard it is for them to be up to date on a normal year and now all the land eligibility problems, changes to parcels for GLAS, Young farmers, new entrants, etc that's thrown into the mix.
It'll be interesting to see how it's handled

I reckon that young farmers/new entrants etc will be more than well versed on the requirements and that knowledge will see them through.
Our local advisor is well versed on the necessary GLAS requirements but whilst submitting our application he admitted that he hasn't a clue about bat and bee (specific) requirements. I particularly wanted to include bat and bee habitats as I believe that they are an integral part of our ecosystem.
There is a south facing clay bank on my late Uncle's farm and from my earliest memories there has always been a hive of "honey" bees in situ. Same scenario for bats, the feckers often got tangled up in my hair when I walked over the fields after an evening fishing in the lake.

Mine are below average too and dropped this year but will be a bit above what I had before when the re-balancing finishes.
