Aldi/Lidl Espresso Machine

    I'm going to get one from Lidl on Monday. Most complaints I see online are regarding build quality and the filter getting stuck, but as far as the espresso it produces, from what I've seen it seems to be solid, which it should be as it produces 15 bar pressure.

    Purely speculative, I'd imagine it's comparable to the De'Longhi EC155 which is ~€30 more and has a weirder steam wand.

    Best extraction is at around 8.5bar not 15.

    I wouldn't recommend them. For that money you'd get a manual burr grinder, an aeropress and a bag of beans. There'd be no looking back.

    I have an Aeropress, and a Hario Mini Mill, and I buy 3FE & Pónaire beans, really all I am looking for is a steam wand, and this €70 steam wand comes attached with an espresso machine for free.

    Best extraction is at around 8.5bar not 15.

    That's really interesting, never heard about that before, what I usually hear is 9 bar and up, got anymore info about the science of why 8.5bar is the perfect pressure? thanks.
