Not really a bargain but the Advent calendars are available now from http://shop.lego.com for €22.99

Only Friends and City. No sign of the Star Wars one yet.

Available from the 11th in smyths for €27.99

They generally sell out really fast.

That's a bargain to me, cheers. I got the two calenders, 3 mixels and the freebie they are giving away delivered, for the same price as 2 calenders in smyths (nearer 30 euro in my local toy shop).

Signed up to the VIP thing, is that worth doing by the way, didn't really bother reading the whys and what fors!

Found it here from the mydealz link: https://www.eggersmann-modellautos.de/shop/LEGO/LEGO-Technic/::67637.html?MODsid=9c1f9e084cfb58ee31fe4f70d4717013

It's coming in at €170 + €10 shipping - I might hold off and just by it direct at full price from Lego instead, in October, as thats when they will be doing double points (effectively 10% discount/back), so the same price

Plus whatever freebie Lego are giving away at the time.

If you *absolutely* have to have a new kit before anyone else, then yes - sometimes (think UCS Tumbler) sets are released to VIPs first.

I used to depend on the points for future discount, but they are only worth 5% , so I'm not depending on the VIP points to get me the cheapest price

So my order arrived from Littlewoods today, guess what they sent me instad of the Merc? Linky

Can't reorder as it's out of stock... :(

How in the... Did they mix them up?

    You could sell it.. :)

Yep, that was the link, it must've expired, I remember the site.

I had another look for it on the same site, but I searched for the lego number (42043)

    http://www.mydealz.de/search?keywords=lego+42043&action=search&search_in_description=1&expired_deals=1

But they're also expired (one is the same link).
But, it may provide an option for future purchases... maybe.

Hi guys, looking for a deal on the old millennium falcon,
Debenhams had it but it's sold out

    http://www.debenhams.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10052_10001_171010543199_-1

Any leads on where to get it? I actually think I prefer it to the new one!

    Cheers

How much was that to begin with? The cheapest I'm seeing it anywhere is for €127 + shipping - compared to Debenhams €48.60 . Did they ever sell it for that sale price, or is it one of those "price drops, not in stock, but look what else we have here.."

Apologies.. A link might be helpful. - http://geizhals.eu/lego-star-wars-episodes-i-vi-millennium-falcon-7965-a665526.html

I saw Lego Movie Rescue Reinforcements half price in Heatons Carrickmines today. Was 60 euro, now 30 euro. They had about 6 of them.

EDIT: Here's the link. A few other sets half price too. :)

This set was down from e54 to e27 in Debenhams in Tallaght today. There was one up at the pay counter. Seems like a good price.

I'd be careful. The seller has zero feedback. There was a seller on adverts who was banned just yesterday as they were pulling a scam selling big lego sets.

Not to say this seller isn't genuine but tread carefully.

Stock checker for that Star Destroyer:
    http://www.checksmyths.com/StockCheckPage.php?productId=135707

Only that the closest to Dublin I can find is Dundalk, I'd be buying it. The petrol and tolls up and back would end up more than the saving.

Also, while on the Smyths site I bought the Star Wars Lego Advent Calendar. They ran out last year and my young fella is already talking about this years one. Better safe than sorry!

Ken Black is a toy store that was taken over by and rebranded as a Smyth's store. There is one in Carlow and Wexford and a few more around the country.

Ken Black just have a buying agreement, long standing, with Smyth's. They were never taken over afaik.

Ah my mistake. Thought I had read something aa few years ago about a buyout.

Is the buying agreement why Ken Black have all the same logos, pricing structure etc ?

Yeah, and same catalogue, not sure if you walked in one or the other you could tell the difference, price labels aside. I wouldn't be 100% of my facts either though emmet.

I just spotted in the Argos Bargain Alerts Thread that Argos now offer a price match on toys.

If this is the case they should match the price of the Imperial Destroyer I linked above in Smyth's for €99 down from Argos price of €150. This means a lot more of you guys can pick it up now if you want :) there are also a few available in the Dublin Argos stores.

£69 is around €95. They say in the price match offer they will include delivery charges when comparing items bought online. So maybe they'd match the Train price at around €105. Get your €10 voucher.

Buy Destroyer and add a mini figure to being the price above €100 use you Train €10 voucher and pay €92.99 and get another €10 voucher :DD

Both for €198 and have aa voucher for your next purchase !!

I was debating getting the destroyer - it sounded cool! Saw a video of it and can't see the attraction of it. Very bland.

Haven't read the Argos price match but would imagine its Irish sites only.

I'm going to try that Price Promise in Argos this morning. Reserved one in Tallaght and heading out with a page on my phone showing €93 in Smyths Dundalk.

Don't anyone buy the last one in Dundalk in the next hour!

Will post with how I get on.

Success! Met some small resistance in Argos (price promise thing new to Ireland). One lady found the details though and just put it through for €93.99 - which was the figure from my Smyths basket after the mystery €6 deduction - not the product price. Just showed my phone browser.

Also got a €10 Argos voucher so the thing ends up as €83.99!

Thanks to the tipsters here. :)

Did you had to pay full price and then go to customer service desk to get refund or they sort you out at the till?

I just read on the Eurobricks forum there is a voucher in the UK for £6 off a £50 spend or £12 off £100. I've just tried entering the codes on the Irish Smyths site and it works for €6 off €50 and €12 off €100 too: SMYOCT12.

So it appears if you buy the Imperial Star Destroyer and get something for a cent or find the cheapest thing on the site, you can get €12 off.

It's not a bad offer if you want to get €6 off something like both of the City and Star Wars Advent Calendars too.
