Today I bought an iStick TC40W, my first box mod deal. Slapped on my Kanger subtank and man cloud and flavour city. *awaits folks telling the newb "WTF? Are you mad!!!. It will explode in your face".

Seems to be a nice bit o kit and as I say great flavour, throat hit and all that. Almost too much flavour, throat hit and all that and I say that as a man who used inhale cigars and think nothing of it. My lungs looked like one of those ancient bog bodies they dig up from time to time. I was vacillating between dying horribly from smoking related disease or being so smoked I was preserved like a kipper. :eek: :pac:

Vaping has given me a few more years, one hopes…

Me too, I find the battery life is poor though, compared to others in the range and anything with a replaceable 18650 is just a step above.

I agree, Its a nicer mod than the 30W version though. A mixture of the 30W battery life and the 40w casing would be ideal.

Haven't really been putting it through the test for battery life properly as I only got it to try out TC which didn't really work for me properly so have only used it in regular mode at home, doubt it could last a full day out and about though

I'd be a fairly heavy vaper and I found I'd need to top it up from the mains by early evening. That's running 11 watts at 1.2 Ohms in a Kanger sub tank nano. So yea, not great.

TBH if I had my time over and was vaping from scratch starting today? I'd just buy the Kanger sub box kit with replaceable battery and charger. I reckon that would cover the vast majority of folks getting started, with the addition of rebuildable coils that you could experiment with. Throw in a second tank if you're into checking out different liquids. That lot should set you back under the hundred quid. As it stands I've spent that on stuff that was crap/no longer works that I don't use.

Agree with an would echo every word you've said,Subtank mini is without doubt the most versatile tank available that produces great flavour,is easy to fill,easy to build on the rba and easy to maintain. I've gone through numerous tanks with dual coils and while they are great in their own right it's a pain replacing coils and re wicking,dealing with the odd leak etc. I'm now at the stage where I only use 2 Subtank Mini's,2 Subtank Plus all with 1.2 coils in the rba's and they work a treat. I have 2 drippers with dual coils just for trying out new mixes of juice.
As for mods well it's taken almost 2 years to settle on what I'm finally happy with,2 Zero's,2 Suboxes,an IPV Mini 2,a Stingray X and a Nemesis.
I've probably said it a thousand times but my dose of 'shinyitis' has been and gone,returned and is now gone again,methinks:rolleyes::rolleyes:

2 Subtank Mini's & 2 Subtank Plus is pretty much what I use as well all the time now, using 0.5 to 0.8 in the RBA and it's perfect, no leaks and so easy to rebuild.

Yeah I'm using it in VW mode at the full 40.
Battery is defo less than a full day, I'm getting about two but thats me who uses two or three other mods!

It's one of the coolest looking batteries I've seen. I am not a fan of the box ones.

That button is very nice & comfy too. The whole section of the device with the screen is the fire button.

I don't see the benefit of buying mods with replaceable batteries?
I've owned one for over a year but just use my iSticks.

I use both types and like both types.

The iSticks are nice and compact, lighter too. It will be dead in 6 months to a year depending on use.

The changeable battery mods mean I just pop in and out batteries as needed and no need to leave the mod itself charging. Just use a (much safer) battery charger that keeps several batteries charged up. Downside is these mods are larger and heavier. Long term more economical.
