Have any of ye traveled over to games with Irishkop?

I did it a couple of times with my 12 year old son. The ferry and bus was grand. The pi$$ed up sing song on the coach was a bit rough for the young lad but then I should have anticipated there'd be a good bit of drinking along the way.

All in all a good trip. You can immerse yourself totally with the group, stay on the fringes or drop out all together for bits if you want. The only drag on the last trip (which was to Wigan in 2010) was we lost 1-0 and the trip back to the Holyhead and the ferry home were a real drag. Might have been different if we'd won or I wasn't minding the young lad!!

You can't go through that list of players and honestly say he got them playing to the best of their ability. In a lot of cases, they were actually playing amongst the worst football of their careers. Balotelli and Lovren in particular, but plenty more were far from their personal peaks. Lallana, Markovic and Lambert were also shadows of their former selves.

On the other side, how many players were playing the best football of they careers? Maybe Coutinho in patches? And that would be about it.

If all of our players play to the best of their ability, we finish higher than we did. That's the number one job of the manager. If he gets the most out of what he has, then you can start arguing about what he could have done with players he wanted more, but as he didn't, that argument is moot. Lallana and Lovren are clear examples of that - clearly both Rodgers signings, neither was a patch on how they were the previous year.

Lovren, Balotelli, Markovic are crap and wouldn't get near other top 4/5 teams. Lallana was injured most of the season. Lambert was out of his depth and isn't doing great now either.

I can't be sure how involved he was in what transfers but time to be realistic.
Some fans hero worship players who are not good enough and blame the manager for not getting the best out of them.

    7th was about right.

Are you in Dublin? If so it wouldn't be too bad. I was up early from Kilkenny to catch the ferry so was a bit wrecked.

Yeah that sounds like a long day But It might not be too bad for me since I'm in Dublin.

Its an option to think about.
    Cheers

Does this mean Enrique gets a fresh start on social media.

That 'ghost' next page on this thread - almost as if Boards are reserving it for news of Klopp's announcement. I keep clicking the damn thing.

I'm waiting for the pic of him and the missus in baseball caps and horn-rimmed glasses on instagram.

    Call it a feeling.

His record with Dortmund was great but that doesn't mean it will transfer to England.

I hope, more than anyone, that he is a success but I'll be going into his reign with as much trepidation as I went into the start of Rodgers reign.

His reign would be met with less trepidation by me because he's a proven winner.

He'd also get more leeway than Rodgers did because he's a proven winner.

It'd be an entirely different appointment to the Rodgers one.

Was that the game Sterling made his debut? I was at that game as well anyhow, and I think that was when he made his debut? Perhaps it was Suso who made his debut then actually?

How many seasons would you give him if he consistently finished 5th/6th?

Have we sold Suso or loaned him out?

    He's gone unfortunately.

Hopefully Teixeira starts to get a look in now though.

Why Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will be a perfect match
“Ever watched a porn movie?” the interviewer asked.

    “Yes,” Jürgen Klopp replied immediately.

The name of the porn movie Klopp watched, when he was about 15 or 16, was Josefine Mutzenbacher: wie sie wirklich war (Josefine Mutzenbacher: how she really was). The film traces the sexual awakening of a young Austrian girl in the 19th century, from an innocent child to a high‑class Viennese prostitute. “I don’t remember the plot,” Klopp admitted, “but it got right down to business.”

The interesting point to make here is not the fact that Klopp once watched a blue movie, but that when he was asked about it an interview with a Cologne radio station last year, he admitted it.

Freely. Instantly. With details. Put virtually any other manager in world football in that situation – Mark Hughes, Manuel Pellegrini, André Villas-Boas – and the strong likelihood is that, within a matter of seconds, you will be pointing your microphone at an empty chair.

Way to completely, completely ignore the point.

Rodgers didn't get the best out of the players he had. All of the names you mentioned have played better at other clubs under other managers. Doesn't matter how good or bad you think they are - they have all performed objectively better under other managers, therefore Rodgers didn't get the best out of them.

Am I really expected to believe the demented git has only watched one, and not in over 30 years?

All the writing off of him and taking the piss before he kicked a ball summed up some of the spoilt brats of the fan base.

Ings, some described him as a "meh" signing iirc.

Shock horror, you ask an annoying hypothetical question.

I don't know how long I'd give him because there are a mountain of variables to your question.

Will Klopp have a top 3 player in the world on his books?
Will Klopp have the easiest FA Cup run in recent history to navigate?
What sort of results will he get in European competition?
Will he alienate certain players for no discernable reason?

I wasn't comparing him to Rodgers but well done to you for all that hyperbole. I asked a simple question.

I'm just looking forward to seeing our players playing in their correct positions.

That'll do me for a start.

Just no Balotelli next season and I'll be happy.

You've asked that very same question several times recently and you've been met with the same reasonable answer every single time, yet you seem to ignore the answer and continue asking that question as if it's some sort of valid point. Give it a rest, eh.

Something very shocking just dawned on me, Klopp has not signed yet! Everyone is talking as if he has and it had me sucked in to looking up Klopp gifs etc.

Until he's leaning we should relax because if it's some other joker hired then I'll riot!

The point of me asking was because I rank the league as priority, if he finishes 5th/6th for a few seasons in a row then IMO no amount of cup runs will save him.

Just no Balotelli next season and I'll be happy.

Klopp would probably man-manage Balotelli better then BR did.

Some of them probably forget where their correct positions are!
