Cavity Insulation

We bought an ex-corporation house in Cabra and we are getting some works done. We want to get external insulation done and we have a contractor who can do that and we also qualify for a grant which makes it affordable so all is grand with that. However, the house also has a small cavity in the external wall. it is maybe 50 to 70 mm think so it is not enough to do a good job with cavity insulation but it is big enough for cold air to move about in, so we would like to get it pumped too. We would not qualify for a grant for pumping the walls so we would like to get it done at the most economical price possible. Has anyone had this issue and how did you solve it? Has anyone done a similar job? Thanks.

    Why can't a 50 to 70mm cavity be pumped?

If external insulating, it is imperative that the cavity is filled. Otherwise it is a complete waste of time/money.

Thanks. No it can be pumped but there are too many places where the cavity is smaller and where there is no cavity at all so pumping it alone would not achieve a good enough result

I've seen Ewi installed and the same installer pump the cavity

Pumping will be a small % cost

    Get a few quotes
