As indicated in the pre-sacking chatter FSG are going to ditch the TC nonsense and get a DoF in.

So it's not 1 but 2 potential appointments for us to mess up.

Mignolet, Skrtel, Lovren, Can, Lallana, Firmino, Allen, Milner, Markovic could all be on the way out.

    Firmino on his way out?

I know what you mean, but no manager will get rid of Can, Firmino or Milner. Even Lvroen's career can be salvaged by a new manager, but the rest could leave.

Is this news or just a thought?

Can't see Migs, Can, Firmino or Markovic going anywhere in the near future at least.

Whatever comes of this I just pray to God we never see Balotelli grace Anfield again.

Henderson is probably wondering if he will still be captain or not.

Be a bad move to take it off him at this stage I think.
He'll likely stay here as long as he's wanted, he's a good player, he's a trojan worker, he's a good lad and anyway, there's not really anyone else.

Lucas nearly leaves every year, Sakho is a bit highly strung, Milner hasn't shown enough to justify his vice-captaincy and Skrtel doesn't look like any sort of leader.

We do lack big club experience.
Gerrard was lucky enough to be part of a club that was still clinging on the top of English football.

To push us back into it is a much harder task.

Yes he's gone in January sure. On loan first though and then a permanent transfer in the summer.

Rodgers getting sacked makes up for taking Aguero out of my FF team yesterday.

Surely Gerrard could handle the transfers with a few texts.

    Player manager?

The next manager is not going to clear the decks, hell Can and Firmino are perfect Klopp players. Allen is already marginal and likely to go, the others in danger are already on the edge of the squad - Enrique, Kolo.

    Player manager?

    Not a bad shout

Mignolet, Skrtel, Lovren, Can, Lallana, Firmino, Allen, Milner, Markovic could all be on the way out.

Why? One just signed a new contract and the other two have played about a dozen games between them.

Ok Mignolet I can kind of get as well as Lovern and Allen. But Firino is only here and maybe if played in the right position could be very good. Can, Milner, Lallana and Markovic I think could come could. I am either way with Skrtel

So who do we want next ? Harry Redknapp, Or Sam Allardayce

Best part about Klopp or Ancelotti is that big players would love to play for them. Can't wait to see who could be brought in.

I haven't been calling for Rodgers to be sacked or anything, but I must admit my first feeling when I heard he was sacked was excitement. If we got in Klopp I would be over the moon. Still feel if they were gonna sack him now they should have just done it in the summer.

Next manager needs to gut a lot of that squad.

Amazing to thing that's only 15 months , May 2014 since he almost won the league. Things move fast in football.

Depends how you look at it I guess. 15 months is also 3 transfer windows where in excess of 100m has been spent on players.

With each transfer window, the starting 11 hasn't improved, more notably the squad hasn't really improved, the defence worsened and we have actually grown more dependent on an injury prone Sturridge. Those points are unforgivable given the investment in players during this time.

Despite believing that Rodgers deserved to be sacked, I am extremely sad to see the club sacking yet another manager. It isn't something that I like to see at all but, then again, he shouldn't have been appointed in the first place.

Hopefully FSG make the right choice this time around as I don't think I can take another 4 or 5 wasted years with a manager that I can't get behind - the last 3 basically.

Who's gonna love Jordan Henderson now!

If Klopp is signed he'll know what to do with Firmino.

Relief is probably the best word to describe my feelings at the announcement.

I said a week or so ago his fate would be decided by the eight game of the season. 12 points leave us needing 2 PPG for the remainder of the season to stand a chance of getting into the top 4.

Best of a Luck Brendan, the 13/14 season was some of the best times I had supporting the tricky reds

He has handled himself with dignity through out all this.
I will thank him for the best season for 13/14 in the last 25 years.
All the best Brendan you made us dream for one mad season.

Interesting stat : On a scale of 1 to 10 Rodgers was sacked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,849 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

I think the big question now is what are we going to do with Moreno? He's been doing quite well recently but we may have to throw him on the bench with Reus coming in.

Personally I really liked Rodgers. I'm gutted in a way he couldn't turn it around. 15 months ago we almost won the league playing unvelievable football.

What will this mean for someone like Danny Ings? Arguably our best player so far this season, will he be left to rot by a new manager?
