Stag do in cork

    Hi guys, my name is Dan and I'm new here. Just had a look around the forum for a few ideas for a stag do.

    We are coming to cork next month on Friday 16th - Sunday 18th. There are 8 of us. We are going to the races on the Saturday but just looking for a few suggestions for something to do on the Friday, day and night!

    I've noticed there is a comedy club, is it any good there? Also if anyone can recommend any good bars to attend over the weekend that would be great. Also any bars which have live music could be good and then maybe a club or late bar to end up in at the end of the night.

    Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

    If you are here early enough on the Friday you could try this out. Speedboat tour around Cork Harbour.

    You can do a pub crawl around the harbour by speedboat. Stopping at Crosshaven, Cobh Monkstown and then back to Cork city.

    Yeah, I looked at that and tried contacting them through the website but no joy!! I was just wondering if anyone has been lately and if they recommend it?!

    Ya, the comedy club is a good night out.
    I always have a good laugh no matter who is on..
    Another option could be the greyhound track , taxi out to curaheen about 15e at a guess.
    Live greyhound racing with or without a meal and live music after, then a taxi back in to the city centre for plenty of late night bars and clubs...
    Don't forget to split up a little bit approaching the bouncers over here..
    Bouncers here are a joke at times.

    Thanks so much for your reply. We did think about the greyhounds but as we are going to the horses on the Saturday we didn't want to turn it into a really expensive gambling weekend! So thanks for your info on the comedy club.

    I have also seen that the mardyke centre looks like it could be fun as something a little bit different to do!!

    I have read that the bouncers can be a bit funny! There are about 8/9 of us so would probably split up into 3s or 4s.

    Are you up for Karting? There are a few options around Cork:
    Watergrasshill: http://www.kartworld.ie/karting-in-cork (Outdoor track, have recently gotten new Karts but maybe a bit far away from the city)
    Little Island: http://www.kartmania.ie/ (Indoor, nearer to City than Watergrasshill)
    Marina Commercial Park: https://www.facebook.com/National-Kart-Centre-Cork-1509267052666390/timeline/ (Indoor. Closest to the city. Same guys who own the National Kart Centre in Limerick, has just opened so might be busy with bookings)

    Dan, how about the Jameson distillery in Midleton. It's not far from Cork by car, train. Was there in July and enjoyed it. Included in the price, there's a whiskey tasting as part of the tour and there's a whiskey in the bar after the tour. https://bookings.jamesonwhiskey.com/cork/step1.aspx
