    Ehm I'm stuck on a question:
    My book is Active maths 4 page 64 question 7
    Q7: A metal Alloy is 30% nickel. Another metal alloy is 70% nickel. The two alloys are mixed
    To produce 20kg of a metal alloy that is 48% nickel. How much of each metal alloy is used?

    I know it's a simultaneous equation but I can't seem to figure it out! Any help would be greatly appreciated because it's due for tomorrow!!

    Thanks

    Okay so let's say x=total weight of Alloy 1 then (20-x) is the total weight of Alloy 2

    The sum of the nickel in each alloy is equal to the amount of nickel when mixed.
    0.3(x)+0.7(20-x)=0.48(20)

    Now solve for x.

    x=11
    20-x=9
