They couldn't find a pressing plant ANYWHERE that would touch their first album due to fears about blasphemy/obscenity charges about the opening track "Asylum". So it was re-titled "The Sound of Free Speech" and released as follows:

(Later versions carried the track, but that was after a Special Branch investigation decided against pressing charges)

Two connections here - Lemmy played bass with the Damned for about a month in 1978. Reason for leaving? "I learned to play 20 of their songs. They couldn't be bothered learning any of mine".

The Damned still open for Moterhead fairly regular-ish I think.
