Alternatively, if you register at https://publicsectorroi.groupscheme.com/login you can get a 10% discount code for any Dell order. worked for me, but I don't know if each discount code is unique or not so not posting the code that pops up....

Looks to be the same one as here....

    http://eu.crucial.com/eur/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Dell/inspiron-3050-micro-desktop

Priced around the same (depending on exchange rates) with free standard delivery

I'd rather buy direct from Crucial. The two products listed on your link are both compatible. I assume the slightly more expensive one has higher performance in terms of speed?

Yep, this is the one alright.

Anyone know what the idle power consumption is on this? Can't find a figure online.

I reckon I'll be leaving this on 24/7 so just wondering how much my bill is gonna go up. Minimal I'm guessing.

Well, it worked anyway, no hassle.

Took about 6 mins to get it open, install it and put it back together :)

All set up for MrsBB, with 8GB of RAM, deleted the windows.old folder to get back about 12GB of the HD and have a 128GB USB3 flash arriving this week.

What OS is every body using?

Im tempted not to bother with Windows and go down the XBMC route or something. I basically want this as a media player. Anyone got suggestions?

I forced the Win10 update on this, but it really needs the extra RAM

I installed OpenELEC on mine and it's perfect. I had to change the audio to HDMI(my TV) as it defaults to the 3.5m jack but other than that it's perfect for my needs as a media device.

There's quite a few options out there regarding OS, isn't there?
Personally, I was thinking between Windows, chrome os, ubuntu or Jolicloud.

Was aware of xbmcbuntu/kodibuntu but I hadn't really considered it.
    Is OpenELEC similar to kodibuntu?

There's countless others to be fair! You could probably android running if you wanted :)

I have been trying to do a clean install of Win 10 but the install is looking for a windows product key.

I can't see any mention of a product key on my device, no sticker.

Anyway know how I can find my Windows product key?

    Thanks in advance.

There should be a "Skip for Now" or something similar on the page asking for a product key :)
