Good to see Keith Wood and Matt Williams (love him or hate him) on the panel. But someone needs to lock Conor McNamara into the toilet and let Stuart Barnes take over.

Commentator sounds like a voice from a 1990s soccer video arcade game.

The BBC have turned Conor McNamara into a man with maybe the weirdest Irish accent I have ever heard...

Have recently moved into a place without a TV. I've been searching online but can't find an answer so thought I'd check here. Will TV3 be showing all 48 games live on their online player? And will they have the games on their online player to view later? Will all the games be uploaded onto their online player?
The games are all live on the player/app. Just been advertised there.

Don't like the commentary at all. I don't mind McNamara as such...but they have it like there are 2 lead commentators. And then the third guy fills any gaps. Far too much talking.

Do bbc have any games at all?

not since 1987 have the bbc screened a rugby world cup match

Actually I just spent a couple of minutes watching ITV. It's the opposite extreme to TV3. The commentators seem to be so laid back and the audio from the ref link and crowd is significantly lower. It lacks any real atmosphere. If Barnes and Toland can come more to the fore with their conversation style of rolling analysis I actually think I'll be sticking with TV3

I miss the BBC and RTE though.

If someone could lock Conor McNamara in the bathroom during half time that would be awesome.

A pint of phlegm needed just to pronounce the score.

As bad as TV3 is compared to RTE or the BBC, ITV's "sir clive" love-in is just sad to watch and then theres stuff like this http://www.sportsjoe.ie/rugby/itvs-commentator-has-just-said-an-incredibly-disrespectful-thing-about-fiji/40367

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

The commentary on ITV is fine, and with amount of ads you don't get much of Woodward. Anyway, if Ireland had a world cup winning coach we'd be the very same, it's understandable for an English station.

Barnes is great. Knows his audience and isn't pro England at all. Was complimenting Ireland earlier on, should be an interesting listen the next two months.

I enjoyed the pre match build up on tv3, but the picture appalling in comparison to Itv HD.
