the original wow cinematic trailer was a work of art, still gives me chills - it's a shame the game is nothing like what it used to be

This trailer did it for me way back when. Never bought the game as i knew it would never be as epic :pac:

It's the problem with "tone trailers," that depicts a scene that cannot possibly happen within an MMO and we see little of what the MMO is going to be like. Whereas the Lich King one I posted is setting up the "big bad" of the expansion, and the original WoW one above is introducing races and classes in a stylised way.

I still bought that game though. :o

Blizzard and the Warhammer guys make the best trailers

Starcraft 2 had probably the best trailer. Definitely the most cinematic one ever made.

Saw the leak for the Warhammer Movie a couple weeks ago but unfortunately I can't find it anymore, it was replaced with thousands of fan-made or (developer-made) troll videos. And given that the employees are blizzard I'd actually be more impressed with the latter explanation.

How worried should I be by all this "Nvidia cant handle DX12" talk seeing as I just bought a massive gaming laptop with a 980m on board?

AMD can't either. Recently one of the heads at AMD fessed up to it, but it seems it will be fine in the future.

this article claims that AMD will have the DX12 games

I haven't been keeping up with the whole Nvidia DX12 thing. Will current cards eventually be ok for DX12 down the line at all or will new cards need to be acquired? Bit ****ty if not considering I only got a GTX 980 TI recently :(

Asynchronous compute (the feature that nVidia cards don't support very well) is apparently a very nice feature. It gives good visuals at relatively little performance hit. Seeing as both the PS4 and Xbox One are using AMD hardware then most console games will use it so AMD cards on Windows will obviously benefit from this whereas nVidia cards won't. Saying that I wouldn't be worried in your position. You have a pretty high end card and nVidia have a large percentage of the market. Game devs will make their games run well on nVidia hardware. Also, I don't think AMD have anything that comes close to the 980m in their mobile cards so any AMD card you could have picked would be worse performance wise anyways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,461 ✭✭✭RobertFoster

Pity it's 1080p and not higher.

    Then it wouldn't be sub £200 ;)

Nice to see cheaper 144hz panels with free sync, but I don't know if I would buy any more 1080p screens. My next monitor will be 1440p for sure. Already sold one of mine 2312hm monitors. Now I need to decide if I want qnix or something main stream.

In other news: Played that new blizzard game Overwatch today and will play some more today later. It's okay if you like team fortress I guess, but it was never my cup of tea. Still cool fast paced shooter.
