I'm the finnharpsboy of contract news.

Nah, we were both about 3 mins after the announcement. I just got into work ;)

I totally expect this deal to be one of those ones that is signed so the player just doesn't leave on a free transfer in a few months time. Fully expect him to be in Madrid in the near future still.

De Gea gets back in the team ahead of the Euros gets a big fat signing on fee and a bump in his wages for a few months and United get to throw in a big release clause everyone wins. Everyone other than Madrid.

It also means he will earn millions more this year and gives him a bit of security. Unlikely but if he gets a career ending injury he is now set up for life with a massive 4 yr contract behind him. He would be taking a risk having just 1 yr left on fairly modest for a footballer wages.

Ye its a tough decision, if I was going to drop anyone it would probably be one of the Swansea lads or Payet but form/fixtures are too good...right now I'm leaning towards playing the chip

I guess you can just bench Silva now.

de Gea for 5.3 looks good for my WC next week...think it's time to pull the trigger

Personally I don't think United defensive options are great until November. SUN the only game I'd be confident of them keeping a clean sheet in until WBA on November 7th.

Kind of preferred the formation dilemma tbh!

Well that's my transfer sorted for the week. Romero gone Begovic in.

My bench gets a run out this week!
Silva out. Daniels and Diouf unlikely to play.
Will be interesting to see the Man City line-up and formation.
Expect De Bruyne to start but maybe Nasri, Otamendi Fernando and Bony get serious consideration with champions league next week.
Aguero captain atm but Mahrez (ahead of Sanchez) is entering my thoughts.
Still intend to save my FT.

There were rumours during the week that his agent had a very bad falling out with Madrid and no transfer will happen now.

Interesting hadn't heard that one. Mendes doesn't seem like the type will do you any favours if you don't do what he says. I guess he has earnt that right.

It doesn't make any sense though if mendes is this so called super agent it's a bit of a put off for his clients and future clients if he won't do business with the biggest club in the world.

Yeah I heard that too. Isn't that why Utd bought Bebe, as a favour to Mendes?? Also, my 1000th post :D Seems fitting that it's made in FSA :D

Article said it was Perez he fell out with. Perez won't be there forever.

I would assume most footballers would have insurance for serious injury causing them to retire from the game, and therefore the length of his contract would be irrelevant.

Had 2 FT's coming into this GW.....used one early on .....if I don't use the other don't I lose it?

Beginning to wonder if Silva is worth it. Bit of a sick note, expensive and will probably never captain him. Sterling is cheaper, will probably player further forward.

No it will carry over and you will have two again next week.

Your never going to captain sterling, everything goes through Silva this season, and regarding the sick note comment, he played about 30 games last season.

Personally, i'm thinking of transfer courtois to Butland and Sterling to Silva next week.

He should be the 2nd highest scoring mid in FPL thus far and I'm sure was top 3 from January on of last season. Yaya and Sterling are certainly capable of matching him, but Silva is a reliable source of points

I am never going to captain silva either as it will always be aguero for me. I get the feeling that we could see sterling playing as a number ten. Silva could be behind pulling the strings. He could become the assister to the assister?

Not doubting silva's capability. I thought it was telling the way sterling was pushed forward last game to get the breakthrough.
