    Thursday 06 august 32:29

Apoligies for the lack of updates.I was pretty busy the last week or so. This run 32:29 @ 6:09 per km, total 5.2km.

    Saturday 08th august

30 mins @ 5:45 per km for 5.2km. Last run before holidays.

    Tuesday 11th August

Ran with a friend today while I travel. Distance approx 4.5km. Pace felt about 6:30 per km hilly for me terrain. Nothing more specific as I switched off roaming data after an app decided to install an update shortly after landing.

    Wednesday

Ran with friends partner today. Again at their paces. From her garmin 9km in 62 mins.

    Thursday 13th august.

Mapping out a route for myself. Will sit down with phone and work out how to limit when it installs updates when I have a chance. Tempo today I think and lsr Sunday hopefully.

    Friday 14th August 2015
    Tempo type run,

Been a little against it fitting in any running this past week or so, with so much keeping me busy.
Hillier terrain than I am used to was not going to push it here
Distance 4.87km in 23:14, km pace 4:46km, Mile paces 7:40.

    Tuesday 18-08-15
    Morton Stadium Paced mile.
4 Days since my last run here. I was a little against it sleeping poorly the last few days, just back from the holidays Tuesday and, out and about in the city, most of the day. Last bit of food I had was about 9am, came inside the 6 minutes so well pleased. Completely exhausted after this mile, took me a long while to catch my breath afterwards. It was always going to be a challenge, this was really tough however. I would have had an option here to use the 6:30 pace but that felt a little soft. Better rested and fueled, I think I could take 5-10 seconds off the mile or at least not come across the line so out of breath.

    Tuesday 20-08-15

Went with feel on this today. Not an ideal week, but will make the most of what I can for the rest of the week. Aiming for another easy run tomorrow, then a LSR, perhaps a shorter easy run Sunday. No tempo run this week, but as posted already, did my my first paced mile Tuesday so subbing that for my Tempo run.
Hopefully my first 5 day week starting Tuesday next week and continue building overall mileage and length of LSR.

Nothing particularly noteworthy other than, a return to early morning runs, took me a while to fully awaken this morning.

    Distance 8.07km in 44:37 @km pace 5:32/mile pace 8:55

Interesting few weeks ahead. Still planning the Clontarf half in November and want to slot 10km, a 10 mile would have been nice but not fresh enough for the Frank Duffy on Saturday. If anyone is aware of any 10 Mile race other than the Frank Duffy on Saturday in or around Dublin let me know.

Not too many 10 milers near Dublin at this time of year off the top of my head. Cork always seems to have plenty though. The only one I can think of is the Stook 10m in Kilkenny late November but that probably clashes with Clontarf.

Cheers for the suggestions there BG, 21st of November for Clontarf. No idea how much time I should have off between races, but anything withing a few weeks might be a bit much especially with the race distances so close.

I tend to over-race but best practice suggests at least one day's recovery per mile raced (recovery = just easy running, no sessions, no races). So for a 10 mile race you'd need 10 recovery days and so on. To get the most out of your training less is definitely more, so I'd work on the basis that one race a month (of the longer distances anyway) is plenty. You could throw in the odd parkrun here or there for sure but to make progress in your training limit the racing so you can approach each race fresh.

Been a while since an update

Everything has been pretty mental the last month overall but thing normal is slowly being restored. No LSR last week just 2 * 8Kruns after the holidays + the paced mile at Morton Stadium

    Friday 21st August 2015

8.07km Easy pace here 5:23 per km (8:40 per mile), going by feel now on the suggestion of a few.

    Monday Double Session

Not something I may do very much as a beginner but I was very late getting up today. We have a family member staying the last week and she will be with us the next few day in cramped quarters. Sleep/Routine etc has suffered but you make accommodations for family. Got out for two 30 minute sessions when I had the chance outcomes below. No real paces as such, just shooting for about 5KM same loop both time, more or less might have crossed over the road on the second run.

Split 1, 5.06km, 31:34 pace 6:14 per km (10:00 per mile) very easy
    Split 2, 5.10km, 28: 30 pace 5:35 per km (9:00 per mile) easy

    Tuesday 25th August 2015

    Tempo run
4:05km, 5:02min km absolutely struggle today for some reason today. Some of my easy runs creep up to this pace for a few kms. I was faster during the c25k program with trying for speed. I did had some bad allergies Monday night so maybe the the cetrizine didn’t agree with me ????

    Wednesday 26th August 2015

Easy run 8.06km, Average 5:59km (9:39 per mile) easy run. Nice comfortable run today. It made up for yesterday, to hit a reasonable pace for my tempo run.

    Friday 28th August 2015

    Long slow run.
Duration 1:22:29, Distance 15.24km, pace 5:24 per km (8:41 per mile), I was left beaming after this this was a really comfortable pace for the day that was in it. It seemed like a real return to form. It felt like, I could have went all day as far as legs were concerned, lungs okay, heart, felt okay, only issue I really felt was fuel, hard to get in much food when I am running so early not sure of any fixes for that. I Normally only eat a banana and drink a coffee in the morning before my runs. . Last few weeks have been mental. I have found it really hard to get running in full stop, for the last 3-4 weeks. I was genuinely worried I had set myself back a few weeks. This week is the first week of my proposed new routine too, regarding how I split my days. Early run on a Saturday won’t fly with my OH. I can get away with them on weekdays because her work hours mean she gets up at 5:30AMtu

    Saturday 29/08/15

Last run of the week. Nice way to round off the week a nice mid morning 9km run of a Saturday. Pace easy.
    Duration 52:52
    Distance 8.95km
    Avg Pace 5:54min/km (9:30)

Weekly Total Km 46.96, 29.18 miles

Some more bits and pieces to follow either this week or next week, overall assessment of my last few months, mileage etc, what I have learned, obstacles, cross-training, plans, going imperial, using mile paces exclusively,(expect to work to work through the newbie threads the next few day, before posing my own question and coming back here. :D etc.

    Monday 31st August.
    9km easy run
Has been a challenging month with holidays etc getting in the way of training but I am through all of that now so back to normality now. Just an easy 9k run today.
Total distance 8.81km in 51:13 (5.5 mile very approx
    Paces km 5:49, Mile 9:21
Pace was a little easier than last weeks easier runs. Nothing by way of cross training yet, but I really want to work on my core strength and flexibility, basic stuff like lunges, planks and Supermans. Space is so tight in my little place I have to lift my coffee table on the sofa to use my foam roller. So would be looking at something basic like a yoga mat for home, on my list this month. OH has big dentist bill this month so everything is ultra tight but, I think I'll make an allowance for a mat now that I am hitting 30 miles a week. :D:D.Praying to the running gods I remain injury free as finance are tight, hence no cross training. No calls for physio etc yet, thankfully. Toes and feet holding up occasional blistering but fine once I keep them dry, think this is more from my plimsolls, getting soaking wet from rain shower in the city than my running shoes, touch wood, I don't have to face anything new in that regard coming up to the Clontarf half.

    Tuesday 1st September

Changed things up slightly today added warm up and cool downs to todays run.
1 km warm up, 4 km tempo, 1 cool down. Split in km)
    (6:44..,5:00, 4:34, 4:52, 4;51, 5;46)
I had intended to do 5 km of tempo, but my earphone have been on the way out for a while and, my ears had about as much static as I could bear so I made a beeline for home cutting the run a little early for today. Time for a bit of spring cleaning anyway so those are fit for the bin now. I am sure I have another pair somewhere. Got more wear out these ones (dealz finest), than I did out of a pair that came with my htc desire that I only just opened recently , the earphones not the phone (that fella is bricked)
Need to focus more on my nutrition now, in the coming weeks:):). Is it weird that I am cooking pasta at 10am because I don't feel like porridge again.:eek:

    9km run Easy
    Duration 49:48, Distance 9.03km, Avg pace 5:31min/km (8:54min/mile)

Grand Run today, no complaints really. Started to rain a little the last couple of km, but saw the run through. Going by feel as I have been doing on my last few runs.
Stocked up Aldi on of Aldi Super 6, Meat and Veg offer, Plus some more veg, grains and carbs. One last stop to FX. Buxleys and grabbed myself some lambs kidneys and some sausage to make a few days worth of lunch. Don't ask childhood casserole thing. I imagine a lot of crooked noses if I mentioned how it was made.
Plan will be cook it all up, freeze a few portions and keep days worth out.
All that lugged around and I have busted another pair of dealz finest. I know about false economies and all that, but I swear I tear through better headphones too.:eek:

Next Run will be friday, so I have the rest of today and all tomorrow to decide whether to fish an old pair out of my box of junk treasure or buy a new pair.

Feeling good about this weeks LSR. Roll on friday. :D:D

    LSR 18.67 km

    Duration 1:45:51:
    Distance 18:67km (11.6 Miles)
    Pace 5:40 min/km (9:06 min/mile)

Decide to completely change things up for my morning run. This was something of a bizarre decision considering how badly I slept last night. Anyways onto the interesting stuff one hopes, the run.
Today’s run began on Griffith Avenue in the direction of the Drumcondra rd, at 5:30am, which was surprisingly busy, (Post debs, after parties by the looks of things). To be young again, and revel , in debauchery of late nights celebrating how late you went to bed. Now twice as old, celebration has turned to how early, I start my day ;). The first few km saw me in familiar territory as I turn right in the direction of Santry, a right turn at the next major set of light takes my into Whitehall. All familiar stuff so far. One more right and I am on my first downhill stretch coming down the Malahide road crossing the beginning of Griffith Avenue now.

I ran past Fairview park crossing the Tolka I think. I come into the city now via the north strand, Amien street, Talbot street, Gardiner street, Custom house, Eden quay crossing a Rosie Hackett bridge. I continue west along Burgh Quay taking in a brief detour up D’olier Street sweeping across Fleet street and Westmorland Street before turning down Aston quay. Continued along the south Quays till traffic slowed me and took a left up a laneway somewhere near the Four Courts Hostel crossing Lower Bridge Street and St. Augustine Street.

Coming onto Oliver Bond Street, I turned right onto Bridgefoot St and a left again onto the South Quays, continue as far as Hueston Station crossing at the Luas bridge I turned left, and waited at the light at the bottom of Infirmary Road. My only major stop, 6:30am and traffic was heavy enough that, there was no way I was crossing there on anything other than green. Got a few funny looks running in the city, in the guise of “how dare you run on my pavement”. I could understand that temperament if I was throttling down a busy shopping street but there was a handful of people who I gave all the space in the world to. :D

Infirmary Road was a challenge after a standing start at the lights, but likely this would have been a challenge anyway, as I am not used to more challenging hills anyway. I have not been very adventurous in this regards. I turned right from here onto the north circular rd heading toward the Phibsborough.
Everything had been going swimmingly so far, with the run. I continued on the NCR where it meets Dalymount a few hundred metres and then began to question my sense of direction. I turned back a little after the post office and headed along Dalymount in the opposite direction before crossing the road at the junction with St Peter’s Rd and heading back in the direction I had just come. (Oh my)

I passed Phibsboro PO again on the NCR and turn left when I come to John Doyles Pub. Taking in the trio, Phibsboro Rd, Whitworth rd and Belvedere Rd, surprise surprise I am back on the NCR, brainfart over and in familiar territory. (PHEW) A left here takes me through Summerhill and Ballybough, a right onto Fairview Strand a left onto Philipsburgh Ave. The home Stretch now, I run the length of Philipsburgh Avenue and turn into a new day.

Today’s run should have been about 1.5km shorter than it ended up being. I think at least half of that extra distance can be account for by my confusion in Phibsboro. To. All in all really pleased with today, paced felt comfortable despite being tired. Only time felt difficult was on infirmary road and when my sense of direction went haywire in Phibsboro.

Just wanted to add, that I have registered for a 10k (Marie Keating October 11th) in preparation for the Clonfarf half Marathon in November. Saw no mention on this particular race about it being a women mini marathon, so hope, I didn't feck, up or I'll have to borrow a dress and a bucket. :D

    Saturday 05/09

    Easy Run 8.67km (5.39 miles)
    Average pace 5:34 min/km (8:58 per Mile)

I was aiming to run 7km here and bring throw in 4-6 stride with 90 second break between each on the home stretch. Eating a heavy meal too soon before the run left me feeling a little queasy, I waited two hour, in this case it was not enough, I managed to keep it at bay by dialing back the pace for the rest of the run but dick fancy the stride with repeats of a different kind.

Last run of the week and I am well please to round the week off.
    WTD 51:19km (31.84 Mile)
Gobsmacked by the numbers I am achieving. 10k now in October, Half in November, Open the year with some shorter races. Woot Woot

    Monday 07/09

    8Km Approx

GPS fecked up on me today coming up to the 6th km and was out for about 2 minute. Pace of kms to that point had been consistent enough. (5:45, 5:30, 6:00, 5:20, 5:22). Route I was running today was basically a 3 km loop aim was to do 2 and a bit loops, and finish with a few strides. I hit 3 km right about where I started. Coming back around again I got the dreaded GPS signal lost. It was another few hundred meter before I heard endomondo chime in with a report pace of 7:31 for the 6th km which it later adjusted. Looking at the map after the run it cut some more off the other side of one of these loops, as I apparently ran through concrete and fences. I am not getting out the calculator on this one but I think I am missing somewhere between 200-500 meters from my actual run, I think turning off my mobile data may be to blame for this???

    Recorded stats

    7.70km @ 5:50 min/km (9:25 min/mile)

0.80 km 4 Strides9( 20 total) with 60 seconds break between each, total distance

    1km Warmup + 7km Tempo Pace

Still learning the ropes so to speak. Quite a bit longer than 20 minutes, but tempo pace, with 10k race 11th October in mind. If i have this right, I should be increasing the length of my tempo runs closer to a race. Gets confusing because some circles says a tempo run is strictly less than 20 minutes, which would be pretty self limiting.

    Oh well splits below

    [5:27 warmup faster than I intended :p]4:50, 4:33, 4:30, 4:48, 4:47, 4:46, 4:57, (5:41*)

*0.02 We can pretty much disregard this, just the time to stop endomondo.

    Recovery run.
    0
Slower pace today on account of it being a recovery run. Keep myself reasonably contained with a very slow (for me) first km of 7:39 min/km (12:20 per mile), it can be done, :P. Average pace 6:49 min/km for 7.33km in 50:02
(10:59min/mile avg). Rest tommorow, and LSR Friday.

    Friday 11/09 (LSR??? 21.1KM)

    Distance 21.11km
    Duration 1:47:23
    Avg Pace 5:05 min/km (8:11 min/mile)

I Have been been keeping myself really busy of late working through the DCM novices thread reading through taking note of any post number seem particularly useful. Almost half way through that and then I will have to go back over everything I have marked. :D
Then moved on the random running questions thread. One thing that I have taken from it more than anything was the naked run. So I ran today sans headphones, well I just stuck my phone in my pocket with them still attached and off I went.

Onto the run itself. All very straight forward on paper Griffith Avenue onto the Malahide rd, turning onto the Clontarf rd in the Direction of Dollymount. From there straight onto the James Larkin Road and Dublin rd out and back.
I turned back a little before the SuperValu in Sutton and looped back the way I came. Straight forward as that. Two thing I had to contend with really, roadworks on either side meant I had to cross the street a couple of times particularly on the way out as I had never run out that way before. Second thing was hydration, water belt is needed sooner rather than later.

Ended up running a bit fast naked for my LSR :P, sorry Dubgal.

    Sunday 13/09

    Slow run 5:48 min/km (9:20 min/mile)

I had a slight niggle friday after my LSR so I had two session on the foam roller Friday and two Saturday and one Sunday. The extra days rest Saturday and I felt good to go today. I waited for a break in the rain but inevitably I got pretty wet anyway.

I tried to keep this nice and easy but am happy for the most part. Started slow and finished slow, only the 4th km was on the fast side. Nice finish to the week for me

    Monday 14/09

    Rest.

Incredibly busy day. I have been convincing myself all day that if it came down to it I would run before going to bed. After getting my last errand away from home done and just coming in the door, I can safely say it is not happening. I am going to give myself an early night instead. There is always tomorrow. Learning from the example of others. You can teach an old dog, new trick!!!. Best not tell the OH.

    Tuesday 15/09

Easy run 8km + another 2km incorporating a few strides.
    Avg pace 5:39 min/km (9:05 min/mile)

    Split 5:56, 5:41, 5:30, 5:18, 5:26, 5:36, 5:37, 5:47, 5:43, 5:58
Last two in italics had the strides included. The last km had a lot of short loop of a small park white seems to be short on data points but not to worried on that, as I have no particularly meaningful way to measure the strides anyway. I am judging these purely by effort. 90 between initial 8km and the first stride and each subsequent stride. Happy with today. Surprised by how warm it was. Last night was the night in a long time I need a t-shirt at night so was pretty taken aback by how much the sun was out when I set out.

    Wednesday 16/09 Easy run
    Distance 14.01km (8.7 miles)
Pace 6:06 per km, 9:49 per mile

I kept these nice and easy as I felt pretty tired today. I really did feel up to my normal paces so I went with what was comfortable.

    Thursday 17/09 Tempo run
1 Km warm up followed by an 8 Km tempo. Following on from yesterday. I just felt unusual tired so I didn't really push the pace here even if it was a tempo run. Average pace including warm up, 5:05 per km, 8:11 per mile. Since my next race is the 10k my tempo run are geared towards that, while my LSR are more geared toward my longer range goal of the clontarf half in November. Hopefully not shooting myself in the foot here.

    Friday 18/09 Recovery Run
    7.49km @ 7:14per km, or, 11:39 per Mile

Super conservative recovery run, but I am open to correction here (basing this off pace). Very tired again today, no issue with the legs, might have a cold coming on here. Might to time to rewind a little.

    Saturday 19/09 LSR

Distance 21.17, slightly over here but whose counting.
Average pace 5:15 per km, 8:26 per Mile.

Body giving me mixed signals today. Great nights sleep last night, up bright and early, porridge in 1.5 hrs pre-run, check. Extra, water bottle stashed, check. Pre run weigh-in 57.4kg, post run weight-in 57.4kg. (not entirely scientific, on account of sweaty clothes. Pre run weigh-in was a bit last minute, but I am beginning to think of these things. Out for my run a little after 10am, pretty quiet today, imagine, lots of familar faces have made an appearance at the SSE half today. Took in water much more consistently on today's run. I grabbed my 2nd bottle around the 9km mark, as, I didn't want to stretch the first bottle another 4.5km. I kept up the regular hydration, up until about the 14km point, where for the first time in the run, since about the 4km point I had no sense of thirst. First time feeling this on a run so wondered if I was over-hydrating. I didn't take any water on board for the next 2km at which point I realised, my nose was really bunged up, eugh a cold. Stared taking on more water again at this point but from about the 15km point a comfortable pace fell to about 5:30 per km(8:50 per mile), Everything had felt very comfortable up until the 12km point or so.

    Going forward

A bit of an unusual week, but I can put some of that down to the pending cold. From today run it seems certainly be effecting my comfortable paces.
Plan so far, is to take a break, till at least Tuesday, if, I still have a cold, reduce pace, and, maybe drop the total miles. I was going to do a ramp down ahead of my 10k on 11th of October, I might just have to prolong it a little. I can look at increasing the miles a little again after the 10k again and try to get in 12 21.1k+ runs ahead of the half.

No Specific plan as such. I have gradually increased my weekly miles, after graduating from C25K. I have tolerated the increased mileage so far. With my cold at the moment, I will do a prolonged step back of sort before my 10k October. in Most of my runs are easy pace apart from 1 tempo run a week. I tend to run my slowest run after my tempo run, as that as is my recovery run.

Plan so far is to run the same half marathon again next year, assuming I enjoy the experience this time around in Clontarf, and run some shorter races in the first half of next year. I think there will be at least 2 months after Clonfarf before, I will race again, so intend to do some base building in there. A few 5k, 10k or even a 10 mile next year and I think I will be a position to judge my fitness level and choose a suitable training plan next time around. I basically wanted to get a sense of what was going on with my own body this time so was feeling out my training as I went along. No idea how well it will serve me.

    Wednesday 23/09

    Distance 14.03km (8.72 miles)
Average pace 5:12 per km, (8:21 min per mile)

Easy run was a bit on the fast side, Did this run by effort today. Still pretty stuff, but thanks to a few days of benylin and a few days off running it is moving a little now at least. Nice to be back running again.
I did three short loops today of approx 4.5km each and stashed a second water bottle near the start, which I intended grabbing after the 2nd loop. Did not feel especially thirsty today so ended up not needing it. Water bottle was right where I stashed it when I passed on the 2nd loop, strangely when I came back to retrieve it had grown legs. I will give this one the benefit of the doubt; some one must have seen it laying there hidden behind a tree and thought someone had dumped it there. Will make better effort to conceal my bottle next time, I am just glad I didn't need it in the end. I would have been in foul humour if, it wasn't there in my moment of need.

So done the water loss thing correctly today. 57.6kg before my run, and 57.2 after, with 500ml taken on board. Even if I felt I hadn't needed it. It looks like, I should be taking in about 1L for every hour or so at this effort.

    Unscheduled rest

All set for my tempo run this morning raring to go at 6:30am when I broke into a coughing fit when the phlegm in my throat decided to dislodge. Despite yesterdays comfortable run, looks like the body is not quite ready to get back into my running grove a few more days off so, and then off to the random running question thread, so I can find out the best strategy for building the miles again between being running fit and my next race on October 11th.

    Sunday 27/09

A very slow week. Still really bunged up. Only ran 1 day this week can't believe it. Not too concerned about the half in November as I still have plenty of time to build a base again. Bit worried now for the 10k on October 11th which is two weeks away. I might have to get out tomorrow and see how the body takes it. Build up some mile in preperation for the 10k and go for there.

WTD 14.03km (8.72 miles) which is shockingly the least I have run in a week since beginning my journey in March. Not how I would have expected to mark 6 month of my Journey.

Last Weeks total distance 61.72km (38.35 miles) (which I forgot to inlclude)

    Minor Update

Piecing things together a little bit now. From talking to the OH, I have been snoring alot the last 2 1/2 weeks, that along with some other symptoms, like breathing difficulties and stuffiness, nausea, loss of smell. I have book myself into the GP for tomorrow. Fingers crossed we can nip it in the bud before it becomes chronic whatever it is.

    Half an update

Okay so I have been in the doctors now. Prescribed antibiotics, steroid spray and a nasal rinse. A couple of trips to the pharmacy later, and I have everything except I am 99% sure I have been given the wrong spray. I pretty alert, to details, I remember the dosage, of the nasal spray being either 64mg or 64mcg. It stood out to me because it is not a typical round number like 20mg, 100mg, 500mg. The name on the bottle didn't ring a bell, and the dosage of this stuff is 140mcg. I open up the box and the patient care leaflet say this medicine is an anti histamine. The instruction are completely different, to what the pharmacist has given. To be perfectly clear, not asking for any medical advise here.
Now It looks like I have to make another trip to the city tomorrow, to get this checked out. Wish I had just gone to my local pharmacy now. :o:o:o
Ah well will start the antibiotics and the nasal rinse (euugh) for now.

    Sunday 04/10

11 days since I last ran, stat not particularly important here, I think. I had been given the all clear by my doc to run when I had last seen during the week. Busy week and the long lay up made it hard to get back into it. The most important instruction at the moment for me was not to run early or to late in the evening with the cold air, and it would compound my sinus irritation.

Kept the effort nice and easy for this as I ease back into this. I am conscious of my race next Sunday, which I may be forced to treat as a LSR, assume best thing would be tread carefully with this one given the lay up. I have 7 week before my half marathon so I think I have a reasonable time to get in race shape given my previous training, although I assuming a quick recovery, which might still be optimist given the circumstance outlined below and documented in the last few posts for the background.

As mentioned early, wrong nasal spray was dispensed, and the required med was not in stock. This is because it is listed as unapproved. I wish the doctor had mentioned this when prescribing it. It is just a nasal cortisoid. Maybe he though this one more appropriate when I mentioned the running. I hadn't seen my own GP in a while. The last time I had been in the surgery I had been seen by a different doctor in the practice. He was pleasantly surprised when I mentioned the distances I was running . When I mentioned running he asssumed, I was doing a 1km or 2. :D, I had to double check that he approved, but he gave the all clear, to continue so all good. I got a refund on this this wrong item from the city center pharmacy hat I initially went to for convenience. I will now order from a local pharmacy. More than a minor inconvenience given that after 3 trip to a pharmacy I still don’t have everything on the script. First 2 trips were no issue, as I was in the city centre anyway, today, was, returning the wrongly dispensed item. If they had they the correct item in stock, I would have happily taken it today, but I don’t have the heart to make another bus journey to the city again.
Suspect that my treatment will not be as effective as I have already started my antibiotics and I am missing the rest of my treatment.

    I want to scream

So this nasal med, is unlicensed, so medical card won't cover. It would cost me €35 euro to pay for it privately. No money till I collect my job seekers on Thursday, which as it happens is the soonest the doctor can see me to change the script.:mad::mad:
Fecking already spent €25 for a glorified water bottle and a couple of sachet of salt. So much for hitting this infection before it becomes chronic. My running log is not normal this personal. (What running. :p:p:p:p)
I wanted to scream after the latest news today, but pretty sure that won't help my sinuses. :D:D:D
This medicine barely cost 5 quid in the UK, and doc could have picked one about dozen meds but not he picked one that has been withdrawn from the market.

    7.02km in 37:55
    5:24 min/km

Easy run today. I did want to go longer today was extremely hectic, late dinner, and an a late run too close to dinner help me decide to call this one off early. Misjudged how warm it was and I was sweating after this. I should have gone with the short sleeves and my shorts. Got my nasal spray sorted at last, but am almost finished my antibiotics at this stage. Still a bit hit and miss with the neilmed sinus rinse, not always flowing like it should. I do think they are starting to clear( no more funky colours). In the end my doctor changed my prescription for beconase by a different name, which I could have got over the counter, if only I'd known. My god all the heartache of multiple trips to the pharmacy, calling the doctors surgery to change the script, collecting said script, and then bringing it to the pharmacy to collect.
Being the curious sod, I am the googled the ingredient which brought me images of beconase, which, I could have bought over the counter I don't know a week ago, when I collected the first item on the script.

No idea if precision timing are supposed to providing the chip timing for my race on Sunday, I have to look into it. Really have to chase up pigsback. Not feeling confident about leaving it till race day to collect my race number. They don't have my age or gender or anything just a name as far as I can tell. I set up my profile originally about 10 years ago, can't remember what personal information I provided all that time ago.

[I know I said my run on Sunday didn't matter, but I did mean to include the stats later in the post so here they are better late than never. 34:10 minutes, 5.95km, 5:44 min/km]
