Had a look at the tank this evening...need to get a fill soon.
Haven't prices dropped the last few weeks....heard of 58c a litre near me for a 1000 litres.....is that competitive?

For those who watch the price of Oil with the current uncertainty in Chinese economy how will that affect price?

    Thanks for any replies.

    Different vat rates

    13.5% v 23%

Diesel demand rises in winter so even if oil prices and dollar stayed at current levels, diesel / kerosene prices would rise a little and petrol fall.

This is because only about 30% of a barrel of oil cam be made into diesel easily - higher demand in winter means diesel has to be "manufactured" using various chemicals.

Currently I don't see major price changes up or down, so 580 - 630 / 1000 litres is probably what we'll be paying over next few months - and with fracking costs dropping considerably I reckon the days of $100 oil are gone for the medium term as opec no longer have the supply control they used to have.

Pump prices probably reflect extra costs to the garage and a margin for the garage.

Pump Kero in Newbridge is 73c - same place will deliver 1000 litres for €600.

A little cheaper in NI cos no duty and just 5% vat - but they make up for it by putting massive duty on Derv (currently €1.50)

Anyone get home heating oil lately?....will be topping up before Christmas. What is it costing at mo?

On a separate note was driving through Ballinalack on way to Dublin the other day (always a reasonable place for car diesel).... At the shop in the village it was 1:19 a litre....at the large filling station just outside village it was 1:16 a litre...some difference.
