    Hi,

So i was on holiday recently and i noticed the following had been typed into google "inurl:"/root/etc/passwd" intext:"home/*:" on chrome.

A quick search tells me that this an exploit, where i think someone was trying to access any saved passwords i had on my phone.

Just wondering how this was done, and how can i prevent it from happening again ? Do I need to factory reset my phone as my phone has obviously been hacked ?:mad::confused::confused:

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

Might be a dirty app or something. Remove any SD cards and destroy the SIM card. Then reset the device and insert a new SD and SIM card. Change all passwords you entered on Chrome and start using two step authentication. Still no guarantee it will be gone but that's a start.

Also check your Google account for suspecious activity and login history. Your Google Play account may have apps so delete these all before resetting the phone.
