Honestly you should be fine... I would also ask is 4G THAT important to people? I get it almost never in Cork and to be honest it doesnt phase me... when I do get it I dont even notice the difference.

Where I live my broadband is Wicklow Broadband and while it's good most of the time, it does have a tendency to go down when you need it most (weekends, want to upload a video etc) so the 4G has been a life saver for me. The 4G from the phone on the desk is actually quicker than my house internet :(

Also, thank you. Just nervous about getting it yet. Will wait till some other lads have theirs to hear some feedback

I wasn't aware you could buy the chinese variant so easily and was coming online to see if people were discussing the Moto X Play. It's coming in on the UK store at about €400 + Parcel Motel but it seems the Chinese Variant will come in around €350 if you want to flash it.

It's €379 on the .de store but you must be in Germany. It's not available yet in other EU stores.

The question I'm asking myself is do I buy the OP2 or the Moto X Play?

Play has the things the OP2 folks on their forums are upset about losing, expandable storage, NFC and quick charge but the design and processor are better.

Hmmmm, what to do, what to do? :(

Could I go on the list please.? Dual Sim and a machine with a bit of grunt are what I need after Lollipop pooped on my Moto G 2014.

For me: Expandable Storage - I have 64gb OPO and never come close to filling it... in a world of streaming and cloud backups I see no reason for anything larger.

NFC: Only time I have ever used it was to see what info my Visa Debit card gives off... aka I dont need it.

Quick Charge: Never had a phone with it... im sure its to the detriment of a battery also... I charge at night and thats fine for me.

Google pay has been around a long long time and nobody used it... not to mention nobody in Ireland supports Apple Pay let alone Google Pay... If it does begin to take off I would bet you that it wont be for at LEAST another year if not longer at which point I will have replaced my phone.

Heck most shops in Ireland dont even bloody accept contactless cards yet!

Can I be added to the list please. When are people likely to start seeing these available to buy?

    Cheers

Asking a stupid question but is the lack of bands for our networks an issue really.

I pay for 4g and would like to receive it (where available) if I'm paying for it. Will this chinese version make it harder to receive this signal?

Only on three (or their leased ones like tesco mobile and that new network iD) ... Meteor / emobile / vodafone should be unaffected to my knowledge.

    Ok,

So based off this thread, I went mad and just bought the OnePlus 2 from Oppomart. They seem reasonably legit from what I can tell despite never having heard of them before today. I'll post my impressions when it arrives as it may be an alternative to those who get tired waiting for the official invite!

    Cheers,
    Al.

how much in all was it do you mind me asking?

In total using "expedited EU shipping" it came to $478.99 for which PayPal charged me 446.97 Euro.

I sold my OnePlus One on Adverts to cover about half of that.

    Cheers,
    Al.

For people wondering about buying from Chinese sellers, there is a thread specifically about Chinese android phones that has a lot of good information

Not yet but its announced the international version tomorrow with the apparent price of under 300 and no invites. I'll wait for the announcement before I reach any conclusion but I like cyanogen 12s

    Re the letv one pro

Good screen resolution but battery not great. No mention of quick charge?

but seriously what's with all the qhd screen phones having only 3000mah battery?

That's a hell of a battery in the Zuk

    My Oppomart one arrived today...

first impressions coming from a OnePlus One, heavier but in a good way thanks to the steel. No problems setting up phone just getting all my apps installed and configured at the moment... will let ye know how the battery performs after things settle into normal usage. USB Type C is nice, I bought some spare leads for the car and work also... hopefully this becomes the standard (Feeling the next iphone will adopt it too)
