Not that it answers your question but i remember Hodgson was fuming when we didn't accommodate him in the directors box a few seasons back.

    https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/early-doors/hodgson-livid-being-deined-seat-liverpool-directors-box-151231653.html

"To make a bad day worse for Hodgson, Phil Jones, Daniel Sturridge and Glen Johnson all picked up knocks in the game and are doubtful for next week's World Cup qualifiers Moldova and Ukraine"

    Hardly

Sterling looked more like 50 pounds
Man City 6 goals in 2 games
    Sterling no goals no assists
    Totally ineffective
    Runs like a girl

    Runs like a girl

Ain't nothing wrong with that. One day I'll catch one.

He likes to run head on into people.

Shelvey was a talent when the club signed him, he was mismanaged in so far as he needed first team football to aid his development
Shelvey had a massive chance to step up in his last season for us, but unfortunately he just didn't take the opportunity. It's a shame that he didn't put the effort in when he was with us that he's putting in now (apparently he's even hired a private personal chef/nutritionist to ensure he was 100% fit going into this season!

I do acknowledge your point on valuations though. Spending £15M on Joe Allen and selling Shelvey for £5M is just bonkers.

He was actually very good. I can see now exactly why they bought him. He stretches the play on one side for them while also giving them an extra counter attacking weapon.

His final ball, as ever, still isn't there, but don't underestimate what his pace and directness offers the likes of Silva, Aguero and Toure.

He works hard, tracks well and is deceptively strong also

Two peas in a pod. Like Kenny and Andrew at the Boyzone concert.

    That was ****ing weird

Plus will only get better playing with world class players.

City look very impressive so far it must be said

He looked a step below the big three for them, but so does everyone else in the squad.

Sterling was a forward thinking signing for them - the sort they've made too few of in the past few years.

Too many mercenaries, gob****es and geriatrics.

So do Leicester as it's far too early to say anything about City or Sterling. Jose looks like an idiot after the last week so I'll enjoy that. What was today's excuse for him?
I watched the Hurling instead tbh

Yeah, it's early doors alright. I think Sterling will do well though.

Chelsea were the better team one half so he's trying to get at least a point awarded to them

I'd say Hodgson in full fume is a terrifying sight.

Its all nostrils and furrowed brow.

Toure is actually playing ,so City do well
Last year Toure was a midfield statue
Should be a good game when we face them

Cloudy N Rainy has done well for Leicester, always thought he was a decent manager.

It's nothing new with Mourinho - third season syndrome. In his previous spell at Chelsea he had quite a few public spats in his third and final season, at Real Madrid the same thing happened. If he stays in the job for more than three seasons his head may explode or the universe will end.

Madrid agree fee for kovacic. Illramendi should be targeted now in this transfer window

He's the only defensive CM they have now with Khedira gone, probably just cover with Modric injured for half of last season. Rotates with Luka, Isco and Kroos at CM...

Really hope that Benteke can get on the score sheet tonight. Other than Sturridge, our record with strikers has been awful, and the longer Benteke goes without scoring, the more pressure will get heaped on him. I know it's obviously very early to talk about this, but a goal tonight will do him the world of good.

As for the game itself, it's most definitely a must-win game, especially with Arsenal to come next week.

Win first and foremost obviously, but I would love a good 3 goal plus win with a cleansheet tonight.
Need the momentum/confidence up early this season

Benteke to score 3 and out score the other Belgium striker on Merseyside.

    torres?

don't like the 'must win' meme that floats about here but tonight is as close as it comes. really need strong home performances this season.
