Would love to see the Mario training goal.

    Minge
    Clyne-Skittles-Sahko-Gomez
    Ibe--Henderson-Milner
    Firmino-Tekkers-
    Mario

I think that line-up would get Mario going - Replace ibe or milner with cout and it's as attacking as you will see - against bournemouth would be perfect!

I think we need to go with a flat midfield three that doesn't include coutinho. I'd have him wide left.

It always was. The main posters are embarassing at times.

Coutinho is surely best when played more central

Lots of chatter about Illarramendi in the papers today.

Rodgers has suggested Firmino will be on the bench again, I'd say the only change will be Can for Lallana

So if those tweets yesterday by Tony Barrett are anything to go by Illarramendi will be a transfer committee so then won't get game time.

    PL signings = Rodgers

Non PL signings = transfer committee.

I'd love to see us start with 2 up front, whether one of those is Firmino or Ings even. I assume in the theoretical scenario we had a fit Sturridge that we'd be playing 2 up top then, so I'd like to prepare for it, plus it'd decrease how isolated a front man can look in our team a lot of the time.

I think he has more space when coming in from the wings. Thought we looked infinitely better when can came on allowing Henderson and milner push on. That couldn't happen with coutinho central. With him central you'd need to play a diamond imo

    Nothing to pointlessly argue for

    Bloody hate Monday evening games...

Surprised it took the PL so long to bring in Friday night football (next season it starts for real I believe), that is definitely something I can get behind!

Lot of waffle from from Brendan in his presser again this morning. One of the things i took from it is that his play it out from the back at all times mantra is going to be replaced by some long balls

Think the Bournemouth match will be tougher than many think. I can see Callum Wilson's pace causing Skrtel & Lovren alot of problems.

These Italian clubs are just hilarious.
They love a loan with a view to a permanent deal as they havn't got anywhere near the funds of the PL. Man City really done a terrible job loaning both Dzeko & Jovetic.

Speaking of Italian clubs I see Roma have released Ashley Cole. Dunno how things went last season but he could have been useful (if one holds one's nose!)

    Updated story http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/598566/Liverpool-defender-bid-Brendan-Rodgers-Sakho
The Italian side wanted to sign Sakho on loan, with a view to a permanent deal, after the France international was overlooked for Liverpool's opening weekend win over Stoke City.

The proposal was rejected out of hand and Sakho will be expected to fight for a place in Rodgers' squad.

Another win for the U19s in Holland 3-1 win against the Red Bull Brazil that should put them in the semi final.
Goals from Yan Dhanda (x2) and Harry Wilson. I've yet to see more than the odd glimpse of Dhanda, he seems to be making strides at his level.

Could be a decent cover option for a year would bring a lot of experience. Sell moreno and sign Cole sounds like something stupid we'd do alrite.

Some front on that Roma, let's stick in a loan offer for pjanic. They already got dzeko and salah on loan and are close to getting digne on loan.

I would say Sakho has feelers out for a move. He isn't going to be happy not starting. I certainly wouldn't be happy if I had watched that clown Lovren make a fool of himself every time he took to the pitch last season waltz back into the side ahead of him at the beginning of this one. It has to be blindingly obvious among the players that the manager has his own players that he wants to succeed which must be terrible for squad morale.

Maybe we could learn from these Italian clubs.

They try to get players on the cheap.

We just go ahead and overpay for players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,258 ✭✭✭✭klose

Sakho comes across somebody that will relish the chance to fight his way back into the team and prove management wrong, not a chance he will go imo.

Apart from all those times we didn't eh? - Salah, Willian, Mickyryan, Moreno, Ronaldo, Dani Alves, etc

They have no choice, they are skint.

Today we overpay, other days we low ball, I guess it depends what way the wind is blowing.

We can't, when we try and be thrifty the club is accused of lacking ambition and being cheapskates by the fanbase.
