This appears to be your thought process:

    1) Do I like the player?

    +

    2) Is he not in our first 11?

    =

    3) Frozen out. Rodgers bad.

or reading what James Pearce is saying?

Was reading about this this morning. If true the man is a gob****e. He also decided to turn around in a training game and score an own goal and start laughing about it. He's a clown.

Thats the thing You wouldn't know how much of it is true.

One thing for sure, as Super Fury pointed out. Balotelli has been poison on the pitch and thats what really matters.

Probably all shyte talk as there is not one quote in the article.

There is way, way too much flipping blabbering to journalists from inside the club, at all levels, and there has been for years.

So when things are leaked that reflect badly on Rodgers and the club we shouldn't take them serious it's just the press.

When things are leaked on behalf of the Rodgers and the club they are the word of God.

    Hmm.

One thing for sure since Rodgers became manager the club has been leaking like a sieve whether it is crap like this or team line ups or who the manger didn't sign etc etc.

    This sh1te needs to stop.

It's all entirely plausible, the same crack went on at previous clubs, he has form, the clubs side will always be taken when its comes to this clown.

He's disruptive and volatile, anyone has a problem with Rodgers find a better stick to beat him with than the failure of this waste of space.

Be that as it may, what earthly good does yabbering to every passing hack about it do? It's weak as hell. If this leaking is being done to justify the manager's decisions and position, then it ultimately demonstrates a lack of self confidence, AND it drives down any eventual transfer fee.

If it's not coming from the top, but instead from someone else inside the club, they should be identified and given the bullet.

If it's a former player or coach, there's not much to be done about it.

Not a peep should be emerging from Melwood, except where it unambiguously serves the club's best interests, and even then the guiding principle should be "less is more".

I don't have a problem with an unwanted player being left to train on their own, particularly if they've gone the 'Joe Cole' route and packed it in mentally for the club for whatever reason. It is the manager's prerogative.

That said, I don't think it's clear that any of the three players concerned are no longer in it and willing to fight for the club on the pitch if selected. It may not be possible to offload them before August 31st on terms acceptable to the club. And in that scenario, with a pile of games ahead, who knows whether they might seem more attractive in the manager's mind come October if we have injuries / suspensions / players performing poorly? You would also wonder if it strengthens our bargaining position if the likes of a Seria A club do come sniffing around?

Ultimately though, this is a pointless angle of debate given the entrenchment of the 'pro' and 'anti' Rodgers camps. Whatever the rights and wrongs, if we win lots of games this year these decisions will be held up as examples of Rodger's decisiveness when provided with greater control and his ability to breathe confidence into his preferred players. If we don't win enough games and the players fail to be offloaded for good fees, the decisions will be held against him.

People really need to chill out on all this stuff. The data is coming. Before that data comes you aren't going to turn anyone's initial opinions on our transfer moves / squad management / tactics / etc around.

Since Rodgers became manager? You've a short memory if you're forgetting how bad things were before Kenny took over & Purslow was still involved.

This kind of tit-for-tat shíte with articles from Enrique & about Balotelli absolutely need to stop I agree, looking for somebody to blame is a pointless exercise here.

If the manager is leaking things to the press (and I would reach that conclusion) it's clearly unedifying behaviour. But again, no doubt 'pro' Rodgers people will tell you that's modern management and how the game needs to be played, etc. You wouldn't have seen Kenny doing it, that's for sure.

Rafa didn't leak things to Tony Barrett?

You were critical of him for that I'm sure at the time.

I'm pro-Rodgers on some topics, anti- on others, including this one. But the club has had rubbish media/pr management for the last 25 years, it didn't start with Rodgers by any means.

    Fair play then.

I wouldn't be so sure Kenny didn't use the media in this way too by the way. Just because he's doesn't give much away in interviews, doesn't mean he doesn't play the game when he needs to.

Sweet Jesus this place. So now its Rodgers leaking the info?

Absolute embarrassment this place with some of the ****e posted. We never leaked anything before Rodgers came in....Purslow? Rafa? Kenny?

Yeah we were media savvy back then.

If the article was defending Balotelli, Rodgers would be ****ing destroyed on here. When an article gives examples of Balotellis bad behaviour....Rodgers still gets flack.

Anyone remember Gerrard on ITV last season? It was clear as day he was not impressed with Balotelli. Theres obviously more than Rodgers at the club who are not impressed by some of the stuff he gets up to.

Our fans are genuine LOL at times.

You have no idea if Rodgers is leaking anything. It could be other players or coaches, it could be a disgruntled security guard at Melwood.

Towards the end, a fair bit, but that wasn't from Ged, more directed at him.

The whole club needs to be more disciplined re the media, IMHO.

Sigh, as I said earlier the entrenchment at the moment is intense. There is clearly a stream of info. If the manager isn't approving of the behaviour, he certainly seems impotent to stop it.

But this is clearly another unproductive line of discussion.

To be fair, "leaks" have become more common place since twitter blew up. Rafa's time didn't have twitter blowing everything out of proportion (although the media did a good enough job of that).

Also, plenty of managers have bombed player out that they either fell out with or for some other reason. Ferguson fell out with beckham, stam ,van nistlerooy, heinze, rooney and i'm sure lots more. we just notice it a lot more when its a Liverpool based. These players need to be moved on (although i personally think Enrique has a lot to offer) and need to be shown that if they stick around, they won't be getting game time. I don't particularly like it, but unfortunately its a cut throat business. Rodgers needs to do what he thinks is best, because his job depends on it.

Social Media wasn't even really a thing then. Completely different way things were handled back then.

Even with the explosion of twitter in the last five years, things have changed massively. Let alone 10-15 years ago.

I will say though, FSG are renowned for orchestrating the media and winning the PR battles.

Moreno to be thrown under a bus in tomorrows papers I'm guessing :pac: for speaking out in defence of Mario. :P

Moreno: Liverpool FC striker Balotelli has been harshly treated by his critics
“I think he’s unfairly maligned,” Moreno said.

“He’s a very relaxed guy. He never bothers anyone. He could be a great striker. He’s got the tools.

“Things haven’t gone well for him here. He’s really struggled to score goals. ‘This had never happened to me before,’ he told me

I think I enjoyed football when all this **** was kept under wraps. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.

Time to just focus on the results and tactics I think.
