It is a play on words, but if you haven't seen the play/read the book/etc, DO IT NOW, it's superb.

I just watched 'Gaybo' Interview Cilla Black

I have grown up believing Gay Byrne had some sort of magical Rapport with his guests, and that he was a good interviewer.

Watching that, I realised he was as equally crap as Tubridy, he just maybe, had better guests.

Was amazed by this, looked it up and found out that Jeremy (southside guy) is played by Brendan Coyle/Mr. Bates of Downton Abbey!

I've been a member of boards since 2010 (wasn't so active for my first few years) but I only found out today that curse words are automatically censored....

Before I was carefully counting the letters of the curse word I wanted to use and replacing them myself with the stars...needless to say I feel a bit thick since for the last 3 years or so I have been doing this.

Another example from me would be when I was searching for my phone at night...using the light on my phone, took me a few minutes to cop I was holding the thing I was looking for...I'm not exactly painting myself in a good light!

The most ridiculous aspect of your mistake was not realising that Boards' "no swearing" rule is incredibly lax, such that only starring out the main vowel is perfectly f*cking fine and doesn't make you a gobsh!te, and that sometimes merely swapping consonants around will also suffice as well, and doesn't make the poster a fcuking cnut. ;)

Thanks. I guess not realising there was a thread already is another for my list :pac:

It's a load of bollocks you can'tfucking swear.
Well you can but don't make a habit of it. Even if bollocks isn't part of the censor.

I think the prevalence of "blast it with piss" when it first went viral should have tipped most people off to the fact that Boards' takes swearing about as seriously as the picnic area in Father Ted.

"This is my fuppin' spot, get the fup off, ya fuppin'... Baxtard!"

It took me years to realise that Lassie was a bitch despite the huge clue in the name.

For ages I thought the tough mudder challenge was only for mothers, like women who had recently given birth and wanted to lose weight :o

Interestingly though, Lassie was always played by male collies because their coat is shinier than the females'.

I figured this gem out all by myself. I should state I always knew that 'hoe' and 'whore' carried the same or similar meaning - but I never realised until a few years ago that the former is actually a poorly-pronounced version of the word.

It's a black person ting. You know the way they pronounce words that end with an 'or' syllable like an 'o' syllable. For example: 'Jamal, open this doe before I put my foot through it.' The same applies to 'hoe' and 'whore'.

I apologise in advance for the feint racism.

I always thought that finding things "in the last place I looked I looked" for them just meant that they were somewhere really off the beaten path.
As opposed to where the search for them ended.

I only realised today, that there are no TS or TN car registration plates anymore. All cars from Tipperary are now just T. Also when I was googling it, there are no longer LK or WD number plates.

So what are they using now?

Just L for Limerick, W for Waterford and T for Tipperary.
eg no difference between Waterford city and county Waterford.

Won't it get confusing with the other counties beginning with L and with W? Or have those kept the second letter, where they had it before?

I am a medical doctor and am used to using my noggin to sort out a wide range of scenarios. In the last month I have only realised (after 37 years) that cereal will not spill into the bottom of the box as you pour it - if you simply pull the whole bag slightly out of the box as you pour it.....37 years of daily frustration!!

Limerick and Waterford used to have 2 different number plates each, one for the county and one for the city (because they had 2 different councils). While Tipperary was split North and South.
From the beginning of last year, it has been changed so like the rest of the country, each county now has only one number plate.
All the other counties have remained the same.
