    again?

last time they played stoke they started two defensive midfielders and no strikers and found themselves 5-0 down at half time..

playing one striker up front on his own isn't exactly going all guns blazing now is it?

"Again" as in how they played in the 13/14 season, doesn't have to mean as recently as last time.

I'm firmly behind you on this one Lloyd! Anyone who agrees with that post doesn't understand the quote tbf.

Maybe the quote should have been explained a bit so.

As I said, I've no problem with players breaking their balls and pushing beyond their limits to win,not persevere through all and keep their heads up and refusing to lose.
But when the game is over, there's no point having sour grapes and that's what Chelsea had yesterday and it's not needed.
Sometimes you get beaten by the better player or team..it doesn't make you a loser to accept some loses with magnanimity and trying to ensure it won't happen again.

I agree. It's an aggressive selection. The manager is entitled to make these decisions and it they work fair play.

I find this post far more embarrassing.
The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.

Coaches who can outline plays on a black board are a dime a dozen. The ones who win get inside their player and motivate.

Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.

The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

All right Mister, let me tell you what winning means... you're willing to go longer, work harder, give more than anyone else.

The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.

If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.

It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.

Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit.

Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser.

Sakho isn't in Rodgers plans for the season it's that simple really.

He just isn't getting the Balotelli treatment from the manager but has been obvious that Rodgers has never rated Sakho.

Rodgers has the right to pick any player he wants that's his job.

There must be an issue with Sakho, even if BR does want to start Lovren over him then surely he'd at least be on the bench, but fcuk it anyway, the team is picked, let's hope we can pull off the 3 points, Benteke with a hattrick would be the icing, come on Liverpool!

Sakho didn't train during the week so why would he deserve a place in the squad?

    Excellent result.

Clyne was superb. Milner great too.

I'll take a scrappy wondergoal 1-0 victory against Stoke away.

A few things are concerning - first Milner/Hendo pairing is not a good one, they need a player behind them, Benteke was far too static, defending starts at the front and when attacking again he needs to move. Ibe and Gomez did well against tough opposition. Countiho is Coutinho - like Luis Garcia he can be ludicrously wasteful and then do something to make you throw your tea in the air.

The way Clyne got something on that one ball to Diouf makes me feel warm inside. Johnson would have been watching that from a sitting position 5 yards away.

Further proof Coutinho is essential this season.

    Firmino looked bright too!
