    Allen is a fine squad player. Not missed when unavailable but capable of doing a job when called on. Nothing remarkable but usually does a good job when called on. No issue with keeping him other than the fee we paid for him and to be fair thats a common theme with nearly all our signings.

    Bold prediction: he will be a starting centre half for us by next May. He was written off last year but he could be the one signing who comes out of nowhere and steps up. Pacey centre halves are the latest trend and he's one of the quickest in the world according to his speed tests at Sporting Lisbon.

    All excited for the football this weekend, and then it struck me, we don't have a decent song about any players any more.

    We've no Gerrard, or Suarez, and Sturridge's song is as missing as he is. Coutinho is the only one, and his is just saying his name over and over again.

    Hopefully Benteke and Firmino will earn one and get something decent.
