How long is Jobseekers Allowance kept in the Post Office?

    Hi.

How long is Jobseekers Allowance kept in the Post Office? If normal collection day is Tuesday -- would it still be there to collect on Friday or even Saturday? So to Saturday, it would be 5 days (including the Tuesday) or would you say it is 4 days (so only the days following Tuesday are counted?)?

Or is Thursday the latest day in this situation?

    Thanks.

After 3 day's the money is returned to Social Welfare, and may affect your claim.

    Hi /\/ollog.

Do the 3 days include Tuesday? So it would be Tue + Wed + Thu?

Or are the 3 days counted after Tuesday so it would be Wed + Thu + Fri?

    Jobseeker’s payments
"...In the normal course of events, payments expire on the Tuesday after the payment day.."

    That's adverse weather related.

But I quoted the part "...In the normal course of events...".

Talk to your postmaster who will know. I was paid on Tuesday and often collected on Saturday.
