Getting tax back in Dublin Airport when leaving the country

Hi Guys,

I will be returning home to Ireland for a few weeks holidays in early August and then returning back to Saudi Arabia where i currently work (and have done for the last 18 months), I have heard that their is a facility in Dublin Airport where you can tax back for goods that you buy when you are in Ireland.

Has anyone here availed of this service ? And what can you claim tax back on ?

There's a company called Fexco that makes things a little easier but they also take a cut.

Make sure you ask for the relevant receipt when you make your purchase. I can't remember the exact name of it but it must be secured at the time of purchase. I think you may be asked for a residency card to confirm your status as a non EU resident.

Only tangible goods being taken out of the country by you qualify for VAT back.
