    Have you any other pics?
Id nearly guess a thornback, the markings make it look like a cuckoo but ive seen a few thornies with them markings before.

Cuckoo would be more rounded in shape I was thinking

Ya. The wings are different and the nose is more rounded on the cuckoo. The nose on yours makes me think thornie.
i saw pics of 2 ray caught together a few years back with the spots like a cuckoo, they were later identified as thornies tho much to the anglers disgust lol.

IFI have a fairly good ID to many of the fish you are likely to come across

Is any given ray sold as ray commercially or is it a particular species? I assume its whatever comes up in the net...
