I miss those days, I'm sure today's viewers would find it dull but I liked seeing things develop organically. I hate the manipulation that is so much a part of this season. I particularly hate how it's being engineered so specific people stay in, not what the show is about imo and its ruined it for me.

I totally get what you're saying , it's now so far removed from what was a Social Experiment of it's time , that your mind would boggle . I still watch it though :)

Daisybell does though, listen they are all ****ed up in some way, but callung someone creppy which is directly quoting marc is sad tbh.
Ya she is moody and doesnt deal with **** well but when u have a headcase at u thats what some do, others cry ala chloe and others crawl up his hole ala sam,
The different takes from people watching the same show is nearly most fascinating, Ill never do it again but it been an interesting experience so far

Couldn't give a continental about nudity in general. You said Jack and Nick made the situation creepy and she was only washing his hair. Don't misquote me!

I'd agree with you on the different takes, it would surely be one of, if not the most divisive houses in BB history. I don't think Daisybell meant Harry was creepy per se (correct me if I'm wrong) but the whole scenario was rather creepy - Nick with his sex face on having his hair washed by a naked woman, and Jack with his pervy grin in the background.
It was like something out of a fetish porn flick!

Exactly, all of that including the nudity made the scenario gross to look at.

Here Here. It makes for interesting viewing but a 40 minute highly edited highlights show a day and half after things actually happen, highly manipulative tasks, nomination twists, protected housemates and all these silly twists make it a far cry from the show it used to be. Producers show you what they want you to believe now.

I caught up on the weekend shows today. Surprise surprise Helen and co are staying and Marc cannot be nominated - again. The desperation of producers to get the housemates to fight with yet another 'who said the following insult' is creating an atmosphere where everyone is on edge and walking on eggshells. I love an old barny as much as anyone but it's got to be balanced with funny, entertaining stuff too. There's none of that now, it's just bitching, paranoia and its not good tv. There's no one in there who will be a legend, the life has been drained from them.

I've only really watched about 4 full seasons of BB. The first, the fifth/sixth (I think anyways, the one with Science, Anthony and Makosi in it), Ultimate BB and this one. I loved the first one, but it got dull as hell after Nick was ejected. Craig was nominated almost every week for eviction by housemates but survived on the back of his confrontation with Nick. That was it, the entire controversy of the first season.
I do agree with you on the manipulating of scenarios this year designed to keep Marc in as long as possible. I personally don't think he'd be evicted going up against Harry, Simon, Sam, Christian, Jack or maybe even Danny.
But it would be entertaining to see that happen in my eyes, I think it would change the entire outlook of the house to see Marc survive every week.

It's all very manipulative on the viewers at the moment, and as much as I like Marc, he should be in the firing line for nominations this week. Not really his fault though.

I don't trust it anymore. I liked how housemates were cut off from the outside world with only the eviction night audience to tell them how they were being perceived. I hate newbies coming in and telling everyone who is liked etc. I wonder how much info people like Marc are getting from producers in the diary room, if they are encouraged to behave a certain way. I wonder is Marc being paid to be in there.

It really is all manipulation and shit stirring these days. The funny thing is, the arguments and constant interference by BB actually becomes boring after a while.

I actually long for one week of normal nominations, where they go in to the diary room, nominate in secret and the person with the highest number of votes gets evicted at the end of it. No face to face noms, no bunkers, no twists, just a good old fashioned eviction. At this stage, the HMs expect a twist every week - it would be fun to see what they'd do if BB just went back to basics. Now THAT would probably unnerve them!

I think this myself. Wouldn't at all be surprised if Marc has been paid to go in and do what he's doing. I also think that the producers may be giving him info while he's in there. Someone mentioned it either here or on another thread that he was supposed to go in on launch night but he had exams and that a Tallafornia producer is working on BB this year.

That was part of the fun, seeing the housemates trying to figure out who nominated who. I was surprised Marc and Helen weren't called out over their deliberate attempt to influence Sam's nomination. Nick and Jade were sanctioned for less.

I wonder do they all get some compensation fee for being there?

Exactly. There's no consistency in regards to rule breaking any more. Remember they used to put them in jail, take away the luxury food and turn off the hot water etc.?

I also miss the shopping list with the blackboard - now that used to cause arguments almost every time, no interference required! Remember Rex disregarding the whole list in the diary room and spending the whole budget on tokens?

I wish BB would time warp back to the year 2000 and start all over again :pac:

I was only thinking about the chalkboard today lol, that was always guaranteed to cause a few arguments.

Nadia used to go apeshit if there wasn't enough left over to buy her fags. She even threatened to walk one week after they lost the shopping task and the HMs wanted to spend the money on food instead of her cigarettes :D

Apart from the contrived scenarios to cause as much conflict as possible (of which they're all guilty of, not just Marc let's remember), this is the aspect I really miss most each and every week.

I was really excited when Nick had the face to face nomination time bomb, I was of the belief that he was in serious trouble as he would be the only person who everyone knew for definite was nominating them. But he's only had to do it twice where he's been under any real pressure and even then the rest of the nominations were shown. Two weeks of secret nominations with Nick the sole person everyone knew who he nominated would make for excellent viewing at this point!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,962 ✭✭✭✭dark crystal

Yeah, those timebombs didn't really take off after the first week or so. Jade got one week of luxury, Nick only nominated alone face to face twice and Showbiz is back and all.

    No consistency at all.

The incredible sulk moaning again about being nominated. Get over it, it's part of the game! I didn't hear him piping over Harry's reasoning yesterday...

I actually like her personality this series. She is adding some much needed humour and silliness to a pretty ugly, in terms of atmosphere, house! It is a lot exaggerated but still funny at times! She isn't the best looking but sure she can't do anythig about that so bit harsh.

Nick wouldn throw her out of bed for eatin a bag of taytos anyways.

    Helen sounds like a man.

Sam finally realising Marks horrible comments to her were disrespectful, not banter. She will still be up his baboon bum again though.

What's that Brian? You wouldn't be influencing nominations now would you? Of course not, you're a nice guy!
