Well done on Monday, brilliant time! Hope you took advantage of the burger in the Sextant too, that was a highlight :)

    I missed the burger :(

I did enjoy several pints of Chieftan IPA though.

Well done to you too, was reading your log last night.

Wednesday and Thursday saw me run a combined 23 miles.

Multi tasked today @ lunchtime. 2 miles to the bank, lodged check in ATM, 2 miles back to work.

Heading to Dublin after work this evening with no training Saturday and Sunday. Will be a nice recovery weekend with the aid of some good craft beers.

Back at it Monday feeling the effects of a weekend.

Went to a pub in Capel Street, The Beer house and experienced some of their finer craft beers Friday and Saturday .... 16% and 17% ABV. beers. Saturday night finished Sunday morning at 7am in Eddie Rockets with 2 bottles of water, orange juice and french toast.

Was teaching last night after work and forced myself out for a run after. It was a run that I didn;t want to do but was really glad it was done by the end.

    9.04 miles.

    14.18 miles
    7:49 / mi

This was, by far a funny run.

I ran a nice even pace for the whole thing, and the pace was refreshing, just an easy, gentle run in the evening sun.

My stomach was in bits, though. I had a new lunch yesterday - A chicken stir fry wrap and a date slice after. While i felt fine after, later that evening, my tummy began acting up. The first 6 miles were a joy. Coming to mile 7, I knew a toilet was needed soon. Having my suspicions about my tummy acting up, i planned my route so that i knew i would never be far from somewhere i could use a loo. at mile 7, I passed a gym that i work with clients in so nipped in to use the loo.

All good, was happy knowing I could enjoy the next 7 miles. At mile 10, again, same story with my tummy. Luckily, there was a pharmacy that i know had a toilet so I stopped off again so that i could preempt a disaster later on! i got through the last 3 or so miles fine but having 2 toilet stops, although, timing was perfect in that i didn't have to race for one, it just really takes from my run and makes me feel like it was a rubbish session, which i know is not necessarily the case.

New food with spices and going out for a run dehydrated led to this I think. Milk also makes my tummy go BOO on a run but I didn't have it yesterday. I am also feeling a little tired non stop so I may be a little run down or fighting off something which also could be to blame as my tummy isn't 100% today either.

    Anyway, it's in the bag.

Wednesday I was teaching. I got out on the bike, something not done in a long time ...40km total. No training goal, just wanted to get out, clip in and enjoy the fantastic evening it was.

Thursday, I felt much better than the first half of the week. 13 miles easy in the legs. Lovely evening and lovely run.

Friday was 7 miles, nice clip, nothing too strenuous.

Saturday was 19 miles. In the morning, I was a little tired from a few beers the night before and little sleep haven woken up at 7am. After a mid morning nap, coffee and a bite to eat, I got this underway.

Sunday, I was teaching in the morning and spent the day enjoying the midsummer's festival in Cork.

    62 miles for the week.

Nice start to the week yesterday. I was teaching in the evening and went for a few miles after. Out and back loop enjoying the late evening sun.

9.13 miles, 7:31 / mi. Nice handy clip. Slower start and pick it up in the second half.

Tuesday was a lovely trot - 15.24 miles in 1:58:03. What I will say about Tuesday though is that it was really humid. I went out at 6:30 for this and it was pretty cloudy, I thought that it wouldn't be as warm as it was but my singlet was soaked by the end of the run.

Wednesday was a 5.8 miles at easy pace at 8:23 / mi. It was nice to run this pace as the body was looking for a few handier miles.

Wednesday was an easy 6 miles after teaching. I took some a hopper near the end by somehow managing to trip over my own feet in what must have looked like an accomplishment in stupidity to the cars passing by. I sometimes think I have something worse than two left feet. A bruised ego, hip and scabby elbow are the only real outcomes from this.

Thursday was 18 miles. Slow and steady. Enjoyable run but humid humid humid out there.

Friday was 10 miles. I hadn't 10 miles planned in, it just happened that way. 6.5 miles at lunchtime and then met a friend for the remainder later that day.

Saturday was no running. Friend was down from Dublin for the weekend. Lots of time spent in the lovely sun though, was a lovely day.

Sunday, I finished off the week with 6 miles not long after 9pm in the rain.

    64 miles for the week.

Wow, it has been a while!

22/6 - 28/6, I ran a total of 75 miles that week .. had 2 decently long runs, ran 6 days and took Saturday off.

Lat week, had a great weeks running.
    9 miles on Monday @ 805 pace
13 miles on the Tuesday @ 745 pace
Wednesday was 5 miles at 753 pace
Thursday was a fantastic run at 13 miles @ 649 pace. felt so strong, mega run
    Friday was 7 miles @754
Entertained a friend Saturday and got out on the bike Sunday

This week, I am down with something, drained.
    Monday was 8 easy miles
Tuesday was 14 @ 809 pace but think i hurt my ankle a little as landed awkwardly. ran pain free but woke up an hour after going to bed with a dull ache in foot. Took a strong anti inflam Wednesday and took it off.

It feels okay today so might test it out later tonight around 930/10. Also thinking of just taking a day or two off completely.
