Yeah I would of done but I hadn't a notion on the aptitude test at the time but have since been working in electrical contracting and I think that was my advantage this time round, both from a work experience point of view and from ability to actually to do the aptitude test.

Well fair play to ya well done that just shows to anyone that might not have been succesful this time round that the experience will stand to you to do even better the next time!

Just got an email asking me to fill in a background form. Hopefully I'll receive a start date or medical soon, the waiting is killing me

I still have not been offered a date for the medical though... Also does anyone know the location for the first 6 months?

Just out of interest what ages are those who have been successful so far?

I'm 22. Are the majority here from any county/region and does that affect where our training will be completed?

    Cork/Munster!

Im based in Dublin for my first 4 weeks I'm from laois I presume it is region based. I'd hardly think they'd send ya to Dublin bit of a trek!

I'm still yet to receive an email either way. This is getting to be a bit of a joke TBH. Did many of you get refusal letters? I'm email them twice in the last 2 weeks but no reply.

had them in Dublin for the onboarding process, not to mention numerous other courses throughout the 2 years

That's off their website. Not sure if it's the number they called us off of, never saved it myself

I've only filled out the background form, I'm staying patient but it's starting to get to me not know when I'm starting or even if I 100% have the job.

Yes I have also been emailing to no avail, I was originally told a start date of July 6th which seems far fetched now considering I have no medical done yet!

It's very frustrating. I was given a start date of August sometime. Told them that I was out of the country for the last 2 weeks in July and that I needed to give notice to my current employer a week before then and ideally I'd need to have the medical passed before then, but nothing.

Just got off the phone with the above number. The girl there said that anyone starting on the 6th of July is being contacted at the moment but they are very busy and will contact the rest of us once they are sorted. Whether that means we will be in the dark until the 6th I have no idea, but if you have been offered your spot and not a medical yet then it looks like we will be waiting another month to start!

I'm in the exact same boat as you, heading away in mid July coming home start of August, I obviously rather get the medical over and done with before then and not have to worry. Hopefully they get back to us very soon, probably have ours on the same date.
