    Looking at the weather prognostic chart for tonight, there is a big area of activity in the middle of those two routes with 150 kt winds and moderate turbulence, so it looks as if one airline decided to fly north to avoid it, and the other went south, they might have different ETOPS time limits which would also impact their decisions.

    Met Eireann giving gusts of 115km/h in Leinster which equates to around 58kt gusts right?

    Sometime when you're feeling important;
    Sometime when your ego 's in bloom;
    Sometime when you take it for granted,
    You're the best qualified in the room:
    Sometime when you feel that your going,
    Would leave an unfillable hole,
    Just follow these simple instructions,
    And see how they humble your soul.

    Take a bucket and fill it with water,
    Put your hand in it up to the wrist,
    Pull it out and the hole that's remaining,
    Is a measure of how much you'll be missed.
    You can splash all you wish when you enter,
    You may stir up the water galore,
    But stop, and you'll find that in no time,
    It looks quite the same as before.

    The moral of this quaint example,
    Is to do just the best that you can,
    Be proud of yourself but remember,
    There's no indispensable man.

    its flight path is amazing, has flown directly over shannon then on to knock and then out to sea again!

    currently at 11k feet west of Donegal, hopefully it will land somewhere in Ireland in the next few hours but its nice to see they chose Ireland as their testing route for the day!

    The altitude is decreasing. Currently 8,300 feet over sea.

    I can't find it now, but is that not the one that was meant to land in ORK from NOC? A321?

    Looks like EI 715 isn't even going to bother trying Cork, he is over Dungarvan and has turned NW towards SNN

    So much for my assumption he is now turning towards Cork again but must be over Co Limerick now, i wonder was it a weather front he was avoiding?

    at 10k feet now further up north. perhaps radar coverage isnt great up there?

    Bad wind at ORK ATM.

    26kts G41kts.

    Both runways have a 20kt headwind/tailwind and a 17kt crosswind.

    landing in from the north west as opposed to the South, hence the heavy deviation away from the airport from original flightpath.

    Doubt it, wind has been southerly for at least a day now and EI715 is the first to make such an abrubt turn like that.

    Edit: Looking like she/he let the 3 departures off before making an approach.

    Any explanation for this turn on take off from DUB?
