Must say you really deserve it more than anyone I have seen around here, just for sheer perseverance.

International connection - it is majorily connected with Japan and Japanese Australians.
It was POW camp in WWII where prisoners were Japanese and Italian.
Japanese broke out and hundreds were killed both through fighting and suicide.
The dead and some Japanese cvilians that died in internment (moved there in the 60s) are buried in a Japanese war cemetry.
The Japanese government actually pay towards it's upkeep.
Even a few Japanese restuarants in town.
I did say it was more cosmpolitan than other similar sized towns.
There is another war cemetry in Darwin.
One of the pics is the Japanese Garden that is probably the town's major tourist attraction.
Also it isn't the Western Highway, but the MID Western Highway.

I think if it was any other country I'd have let it go, but being Australia with lush green grass on the right bugged me.
Then after 5 when you were going to put up the new pics I panicked and thought I'd miss out on the final dash.
I thought everything beyond the Blue Mountains was semi-arid, big surprise, thanks for the new info.
Now for something a little closer to home.
