Thats very democratic hoping for a bias count.

Did you read the post you were replying to?

Thats very democratic hoping for a bias count.
Stinicker spoiled his vote by taking a photo of his ballot paper and attaching it to his post about initially being in favour but just voting no to get back at some yes voters.
    That's democratic too I guess.

    any exit polls available yet?

    i reckon its 58% yes.

I think the same. Anything above 60% is unrealistic imo.

Tally men/women are not the counting staff. They are the people who observe the counting staff in order to gain early feedback on the likely result and to assure transparency.

    Now that's genius.

I'm tallying in the morning and even though I have been firmly in the yes camp an honest tally means more then anything

Not fair to give false hope to anyone

    No exit polls conducted.

Ffs in the UK we had the shock and disappointment the minute the polls closed :P (I am not implying this will happen here at all of course, far more sensitive and specific topic and I feel Yes will be fine)

Good man. Aren't you very clever reading just my post and not the one I quotes. You must like playing Chinese whispers.

When are the exit polls out?

I think a referendum to allow exit polls should be next up.

Thanks, i take no notice of what people say on issues like this in forums or social media, for the most part it is made up of very liberal P.C types.
    LOL :pac:

Yeah, the horror of those liberals and their "live and let live" ways! :D

Polls are closed, can we have the word homophobia back now?

Seriously though I can't thank people enough for going out a and voting yes, let alone some of the efforts people went to to do that. I'm not going to count my chickens, but today has been such a heart warming and reaffirming day after a long and difficult campaign

Guys, any exit polls by chance?

Yeah it was a nice, positive auld vibe going on today.

But even if a minority, it's astonishing the butt-hurt caused to some by people wanting those who love each other not to be denied full marriage rights simply because of who they are.

We do not currently discriminate against gay people where adoption is concerned. And it is actually pretty fecking despicable to deny a whole group of people a right that everyone else considers a basic one on the basis that it would make it hard to discriminate against them later.

As for vague and undefined "knock on effects" in the future, did you check on other countries who have gay marriage? The Netherlands started it ten years ago. Turns out, the Dutch are really happy with it too. 85% are in favor of it after a 10 year test drive.

If you are going to vote in favor of denying people rights they ask for, at least do it for a roper reason, not this kind of lazy, uninformed regurgitated waffle.

You have the right to your opinions ..Adults have the right to try to find happiness and security with who ever and how ever they want..
My issue which I have an equal right to express ..is whether consequences of this equality balancing will lead to loss for children.
Both sides of this debate have a lunatic fringe all referendums in this country have had them.
I expect this referendum to be carried and that's democratic ,
Do I agree with all the No voters ? No I dont
Do I disagree with every Yes voter ? No I don't
Do I stand by my vote today ? Yes I do

Why refer to yes voters as "the herd" and "going with the flow"? Maybe they're all thinking the same way as you were thinking when you voted yes.
It's not 40 years ago, so I don't see the point in mentioning it. The mix certainly is not the same.
You're missing the point. Every generation reckons they're a different mix and have done since the Greeks noted it nigh on three thousand years ago. They're not, their influences differ, they don't. 40 years ago you can nearly bet your house you'd be a no voter and proud of it too. In 40 years time your kids could be no voters. It would take little enough of a change for that to happen. That's why I said I have more time for the "undecided" voter, they at least can be open to thinking more on the subject at hand. Oh and when I said the Herd, that goes for both dyed in the wool yes and no voters. Again on any subject.
Yeah, bang of "Atheists are as bad as religious fundamentalists" from the "Oh I'm voting yes but a lot of the yes side are disgraceful bullies" (yet no mention of the vitriol from the no side) stuff.
Reverse right-on-ness can be as insufferable as right-on-ness.
Nope. Sorry. Missing the point again.

I dont know how reliable the source is but I read on politics.ie (yeah that place) the turnout for my own constituency Cork NC was 70%. I'm not sure though, that seems really high.

Just took a stroll down the village and saw the priest boarding up the windows of his house. ;)

Well, I asked myself how I voted as I was leaving a certain polling booth in Cork and I voted Yes.
The tally of my one vote is therefore 100% for Yes.

I did a smallish exit poll in west Galway.

100% Yes (and with good cause!)

With respect though, the margin of error for that exit poll is therefore also 100%, so it can't be trusted.

Edit: Wait, it'd be 50%, wouldn't it? What's the margin of error on me calculating the margin of error?
