Can I use two different systems

In a multi branch situation is it possible to have 2 different SIP phone systems or does the system have to be the same in both branches ie Branch A Panasonic and branch B NEC? What potential problems could a configuration like this cause.

You have to configure connection between system (trunk).
Specify ip address, codec etc.
Once this is done there should be no problems with making calls between sites.
