Lidl are selling roof bars (among other car stuff) from tomorrow, I think these have been sold before. Anyone got a set, are they any good? Seem like good value for the price, as anything similar in Halfords or Micks Garage seem to be about twice the price.

    €35 seems pretty good.

these are on offer in Lidl again at 29.99 a pair. Picked some up today and was pleasantly surprised to find two pairs of bars inside!:D
I guess they were meant to be unpacked for display (they were shrink-wrapped separately inside) but the box scanned through at 29.99 so who am I to complain?

Are those axle stands worth buying

I've the roof bars. They are fairly good. We went to France with a roofbox and it did the job.

I have the axle stands and they're good. They fold up so they're really compact for storage.

Bought the roof bars in the end (the original post was 3 years ago!). They work fine, easy to put on and I've used for transporting bikes, furniture and rubbish a good few times now. Bit noisy when on the car but I guess that's the same with any of them. Prompts me to take them off when I'm done which is a good thing.

Got the axle stands before also and they are great.

One of mine had a bit of a dent in it from when I nipped a bike carrier up too tight, but still worked for a few months, until the gorilla in the hardware yard pretty much dropped a load of timber onto them, rather than the conventional method of placing timber upon roof rails. To be fair they were probably overloaded.

Your man then says to me " I see that happen all the time with the aluminium roof bars" No surprise when you're slamming 60kgs of timber onto is it  Reminded me of the guy that goes "YARP" from hot fuzz :pac:
