    I'm not - I'm a listener across the shortband spectrum though. Had a Bearcat once, but sometime in the future I'm going to set myself up with a proper CB ham radio set...

    isn't ham radio different to CB? dont you need to do a test or something to have a HAM radio as whereas you dont for a CB?

    This is true. It's all regulated by ComReg. They call them Experimenter Licences.

    Lots of info here.

    There is some lovely technology available these days.

    Yes, since 1987.
    Most of my contacts are made using Morse Code.

    CB might become popular again if Ireland follow the UK in opening up more free bands for CBrs to use.
