What is considered a suitable glass ?

I presume something taller than a standard pint glass?

I stocked up on those when the were in SuperValu.

    Excellent at that price.

Exactly. They take 500ml but allow for ample head space.

They were putting out more boxes of this at the Headford Road Lidl in Galway about an hour ago. Bank Holiday sorted!

You are lucky the boxes still are intact. My local lidl takes the top off. I put a few boxes in the boot, they lasted about 2 mins before I had loose bottles rolling around.

The boxes don't scan so they need to open at least one box.

Yes, but having 36 loose bottles rolling around in a boot on country roads is a recipe for disaster.

Picked up 3 boxes in LIDL Artane should last a week or 2

Seen that before myself, where they take off the top flap of cardboard and cut a section off the front of the box. I want a full box, not 1 or 2!

    Anywhere handy stock suitable glasses?

Check out ikea. They normal have a few different types depending on what you're drinking. Heres the wheat beer glass link:
    http://www.ikea.com/ie/en/catalog/products/70209336/

For €1.25 it does the job.

For those who are new to hefeweizen's make sure to stir up the yeast while pouring the beer. The yeast adds body and flavour. I've found that rolling the bottle gently a number of times on a flat surface before opening then giving it a final swirl when there's about 2cms of beer remaining in the bottle works best.

Its also nice to have the correct glass as it will allow a proper head to form while you're pouring.
    You mean- like this?
Well that didn't work too well, can't upload pics, see my other thread re efibre :-(

Anyone seen stock of this left in Cork ?

Don't know if you got sorted or not, but picked up some from Lidl in Churchfield tonight, there looked to be 2-3 full boxes left when I was there at 6pm.

I'm getting tons of clove/phenolic and solvent and no banana definitely not the best batch they've brewed!

I must be missing something - what have bananas got to do with Franziskaner?

Hefe is supposed to have and usually has plenty of Isoamyl acetate (banana flavour) in it.

2 different Schneider Weisse and one of the cool pint glasses on the last page in Super Valu for €6.49.

Ended up getting 23 Franziskaner because some took 1 out of the last 2 crates. Got charged full price for the extra 3 so was sickened a bit.

€30.97 for 23, instead of €30 for 24 bottles. But its still a bargain, might tip back tomorrow see if they restock lovely beer.

Ye have me really wanting to try this beer now, but unfortunately lidl does not sell it over here.
Have found this on German online shop but its 6% bit too strong, what about the third Erdinger, anyone tried.
