Hey PB, first time poster here, followed your DCM progress last year.

What race distances do you have in mind this year, any goal races in mind? Will you target another marathon in the autumn?
    Thanks Vanderlyle,
Hope to race Tallaght 5k and Terenure 5 mile in May. After that, I might try and do the race series in Phoenix Park. Have no plan to do DCM, but if training goes well over the summer I might sign up.

Sorry to hijack this but I've had my first problem with peroneal tendon the last 10 days to 2 weeks. Not seeking medical advice but after 3 PT sessions don't think there's been much improvement and wondering if I'm wasting my time and need to seek an alternative route?

I'm resting and icing but the physio hasn't recommended taping or compression as of yet.

Would really appreciate some feedback as I need to get back running

Have you undergone dry needling? It worked for me few years back. Something to considered if you haven't.

    Today 20.8 miles @ 8.09 m/m.
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/750631072

Longer than intended run this morning. Met up with a buddy for part of this. LSRs are much easier with some company.

Whoooo! And the only definite targets 5k/5mile! That's great mileage you are doing.

Thanks Paddy Barry and Dublin Runner for the advice and information, very much appreciated. I'll give Tim a shout tomorrow hopefully I can get in this week sometime.

Dry Needling hasn't been suggested at all so far, the only treatment method to date has been massage & icing at home.

    Thanks again.

That is savage running, banging out 10k in 36 minutes flat in training. You must be looking at 34:XX in a race soon?

My Garmin is less than reliable these days, I would take some of those paces with a pinch of salt.

I have been riddled with injuries since last post. Upper and lower calf trouble on left leg. Plenty of dry needling seems to have done the trick but I lost a lot of fitness. Ran Terenure in 29.05 today. Good result all things considered. Going to give the log a break and just focus on getting the body right and some consistency back in training.
    PB.

    Hey PB,

You back running, or are you still injured?

You were going very well, have you any targets in mind?

Still nursing a couple of niggles so just doing lots of easy running. Seem to break down if I try any faster stuff. No targets. May not even race again this year.

Good to see you back running.
