    Hey Folks.

I'm contemplating applying for a PhD in organic chemistry and any advice would be great. I completed a BSc in pharmaceutical chem and then worked for a year in an R&D chemistry lab which I really enjoyed. 6 months ago I completed a taught organic chemistry masters and since then I've had no luck finding work in R&D and I'm getting the impression I'll need a PhD to work in the the area.

It seems it's too late to apply for a funded PhD for 2015 so should I be looking at 2016? also any tips on applying would be great.

    Thanks
