B.A hounors degree, 2 years duration

I'm pretty sure that most of the level 8 Honours Bachelor courses I've heard of are 3/4 years, usually. That said, I don't think there's anything in principle stopping an Honours Bachelor from being only 2 years. I would guess that the most important part would be the amount of credits covered in the degree programme. That may mean you have to cover the same or more material in a shorter space of time, or the credits for the degree were reconfigured, or something along those lines.

There's general info on the National Framework of Qualifications for Ireland on the QQI website, which might be useful. Either way, if they say it's level 8 then you're probably entitled to assume it's level 8.
