Also why is ICE1510 going to Dub and EIN4960 going to Kef? on the exact same flightpath and they both depart at the same time (Kef 1634 & Dub 1733)...

EI does'nt do Iceland, does it?
How come they both depart at the same time?
How come the flightpath is almost identical, given winds etc?

The OP is wondering why these flights are being operated as neither of the two airlines sell seats/operate that route regularly.

Is it a charter for Irish tourists or Icelandic tourists?

Ach I missed this one over NI, an old Gulfstream III. N183PA was originally built in 1983!

Actually I thought it was older but the reg has been re-used three times; first on a Gulfstream I, then on a II.

    http://www.n183pa.com/

old Gulfstream III. N183PA was originally built in 1969!

WOW.... just WOW.... what an interior for a 1983 aircraft...

Originally HZ-MS3, hence the right side door.

Routes to Iceland are either on airways or set tracks and don't vary because of the winds as they are not part of the NAT system.

As explained they are both charter flights and have run for several years both at 2x weekly I think. To allow a few days in Iceland. Both have missed out on opening up this route in their respective scheduled system and expanding on it, this will be done by WOW when they start up soon.

Didn't get out to Shannon but saw/heard it passing a couple of miles south of home at about 6000ft, great nice from it even that far away.

Upon closer inspection, I have found that neither TK6755 or TK6729 have visited Shannon in the past week. Has the service been axed?

From what I'm gathering off the various flight tracking webites, it last ran on the 12th of march, meaning there was only ever 3 flights doing IST-SNN-ORD. Is it normal for Cargo airlines to pull out so fast?

If you don't attract the contracts to run the route then you can chop it overnight, not like passenger flights that upset lots of individuals.

Seems strange to Run a route with a big PR release and then chop it so fast, surely they would have had quite a few contracts to even run the route in the first place.

Jet 2 (LS775) EDI - ALC sqawking 7700 - looks like its heading for Gatwick?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,842 ✭✭✭billie1b

LS775 seems to be gone into a hold now at 8,000ft, anyone remember if this is the same 733 thats always having minor problems for Jet2?

    EDIT : Reg G-CELZ

I saw EI-ICR (Coast Guard) come past me from Newcatle, could see it on marine traffic, now squawking on FR24

edit: It only squawked for a short time just south of Howth Head until approach to DUB.
