Stobart going for it by the looks of it, an altitude of 2,450ft.

My 22:00 information tells me there is a visibility of 200m at ORK. Anyone have newer info from ATC?

Oh by god they have, if they didn't there would be an emergency delcared. You must have an hours extra fuel on top of what you need to get to your destination if I'm not mistaken.

Cheers Pal, I always wondered about that ! Love the way on this thread everyone question is answered no matter what and not in a condescending manner which is seen on other threads.

Cheers for the info ! :)

They'll have plenty of fuel. Will still have alternate (SNN), final reserve (30 minutes minimum) and addition fuel on board ( for tomorrow mornings first trip to the UK)

    What's RVR?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,488 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Both Stobarts down and the two Jets from Lanzarote making an approach.

EI877 down. I'm unsure of the FR's Intentions.

    Wiki entry, hope it helps.

In these conditions you only have to see 3 consecutive lights of the runway lighting ( centreline, edge or touchdown zone lights) and an element of the lateral lighting. The decision height is only 100 feet above the runway. It tends to concentrate the mind at such a low height!

    My thoughts exactly.

Remember the night there was 13 diversions at Dub? We made over 30 pages that night.

Here's an interesting one. Turkish 6900 from Toulouse at 41,000ft over the English Channel. I'm guessing A330 test flight but I thought 41,000ft would have been above its service ceiling.

41,000 is quite common for eastbound A330s on the early morning trans-atlantic runs. Delta being the most common but there was a KLM that high this morning.

Sometimes the lardy 777s make it that high too, they're cleared to 43 but I've never seen one make it there.

A BA 767 hit 43,000 a few weeks back, just to show the 787s that they're nothing special!

Thanks. Yes, upon further reading, I learned that 41,000ft isn't all that rare for A330s.

She seems to be heading to Turkey now.

Was that the night when we saw some 6 or 7 consecutive diversions to SNN?

Incidentally, as 0700 8th April, AWE (US Airways) flights will now operate under the American callsign. No more Cactus in Europe.

    07:00 in what time zone?

    Hi all,

Not an aviation enthusiast or anything, but I was hoping somebody here could help me.

I was on a Ryanair flight FR 7887 from Cork to Palma Friday morning the 3rd, left Cork at about 7am I think, any way just past Barcelona I think it was, we spotted another aircraft fly above us I think. but it all happened so quick that not many saw it, is there anyway to check the history of the flight and check what happened near Barcelona and see how close the planes were?

Yes. Go to Flightradar24 and click the little clock on the top right and go back to 7:10 on the 3rd as it nears Barcelona. I think it was ZB532 that you saw. Monarch aircraft (blue and white with a yellow tail)?

Yes thats my flight! I'm sure its the Valencia - Prague flight TVS4EC that crosses directly about 07 20.

Is there anyway to tell how far apart they were? and how far apart they should be?

All this is extremely fascinating btw.
